Stay in a charming house set within the medieval ramparts of the Chateau of St Martin Laguépie. Its delightful garden has a pool, hot tub, two separate outdoor dining terraces and spectacular views of the castle and valley. What are you waiting for? The space This elegant and comfortable 18th century home has all the amenities to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. The house has a cosy dining/living room that is equipped with a TV, English satellite channels, a DVD player and a cupboard full of games. The dining table can be extended to seat 8. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas cooking hob, electric oven, microwave oven, dish washer, fridge with freezer and everything else you might need to prepare family meals. The garden room is a substantial stone-floored room that takes full advantage of views of delightful garden and of the castle walls. The first floor contains two bright and airy bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom has a large double four-poster bed, an armoire, a dresser, a fire place and a sofa bed. The second bedroom has a small double bed, a built-in wardrobe and a vanity table. The large top floor room/loft has three single beds, a sofa bed, a sofa bed, a TV and an ensuite bathroom. The private garden is a real gem with a pool with a view of the castle walls and a hot tub set withing the ruins of a turret. There are two terraces set up for dining - one set up just behind the house and another on an upper terrace with view of the Averyon and Viaur River Valley. Both terraces are equipped with a table, chairs, BBQ and parasols. There are lots of other things to do in this garden - prepare a BBQ, play table tennis or badminton, jump on the trampoline, read in the hammock... And depending on the season, you can enjoy strawberries or grapes that are growing among the flowers. The garden is lovely with its trees, shrubs, flowers and herb garden. The views are spectacular, especially of Laguépie village nestled within the converging rivers. Oh, and there is also a magical Hobbit House at the back of the garden! This space stays very cools, even on the hottest days. It's a great place for playing games or just getting away from the rest of the clan. Though simply furnished, the are arm chairs and a sofa bed, chairs and a table, and even a small dry bar. Guest Access The house and house garden are completely private (not shared). Guests also have access to a small side garden next to the house which gives access to a laundry room. Guests can also enjoy picnicking, boating or even fishing in the River Garden. This is shared with the owners who have their workshop and vegetable garden here. Guest can also explore the property's 5 acre broad leaf woodland where a forest garden is currently being established. There is a parking lot in front of the house. This is shared with a neighbor and tourists. A space is reserved for the guests. Interaction with Guests This depends on how much interaction the guest wants. Christine is there to greet guests and show them around when they arrive. She also has to visit the house garden once a day for pool, hot tub and garden maintenance. This can be done whenever it suits the guests best as this is the only rental property she manages and maintains. She lives in the neighborhood and speaks fluent French making her able to help you with emergencies, reservations, suggestions or whatever you might need. She is available via mobile phone 24 hours a day. The Neighborhood Laguépie village is walking distance from Chateau Roc. It's a great village with shops, restaurants, pub/cafés, a train station and two weekly markets. The area has many other beautiful and historical villages including Cordes-sur-Ciel, Najac and St Antonin de Noble Val. Located in the Tarn region, the Unesco World Heritage site in Albi is only a 45 minute drive away. Getting Around For those flying into the region, the closest airports are in Toulouse and Rodez. Cars can be rented from either airport. For those flying into Toulouse, you can take a shuttle bus to the center of Toulouse (Matabiau Station) where you can get a train to Laguépie. Though the house is walking distance from the Laguepie train station, Christine can pick you and your luggage up. Other Things of Note A welcome basket is provided upon arrival. Guests can choose between an "Apero" basket or a "Breakfast" basket. Please note that bedding and bath towels are provided. Weekly housecleaning service included in rental price. Additional housekeeping needs and fees to be arranged with Christine.
