It was built for a prominent contractor who had worked on architect Horatio Nelson White’s landmark buildings such as The Hall of Languages on SU campus. By 1975 the home had been abandoned and neglected and was en route to be demolished. A young passionate graduate from SU, the current owner, Joan Farrenkopf, saved the house and took the restoration to heart, returning it to its original splendor.
