A spacious and beautifully converted cottage set within the grand surroundings of an old folly dating back to the 1700s. It is a peaceful, rural setting in striking distance of the Lake District, the Eden Valley and the Yorkshire Dales. The cottage is less than 1 mile from the delightful village of Greystoke and about a 10 min drive from the M6/A66/A6. The cottage is great for families, couples, solo or business travellers. Pets are very welcome. The space Set within an impressive Grade II * listed folly which was built to resemble a fort back in the 1700's, the cottage is full of character and charm with exposed wooden beams throughout. It also has the convenience of reliable, fibre broadband, a modern bathroom and kitchen, along with gas central heating. The cottage also comes equipped with an EV charger which is available for guests to use at an additional charge. The front of the cottage is east-facing, resulting in lots of beautiful morning sunshine. To the west-facing rear, there is a stunning outdoor space overlooking the Northern Fells. Though it is located in a quiet and peaceful part of the county, the cottage is remarkably accessible. It is just over a 10 min drive from major road and rail links in Penrith (M6, A6, A66 and the West Coast Mainline). It is a brilliant staging post for adventures into the National Park, with most of the park being between a 20 and 60 minute drive away. It has its own front and rear entrance doors, along with a key safe which allows flexible check-in and check-out. As you enter the estate from the main road, there is a large lawn on the left-hand side of the driveway which is available for guests to use. There is also a large, open plan, secure garden at the rear of the cottage. There is a temporary fence available for guests wishing to dissuade their pets from roaming too far. We do just ask that you clean up after your pets both on the front lawn and in the rear garden. Other things to note The cottage comes equiped with an EV charger (type 2) which is available for guests to use at an additional charge, payable upon arrival. Please let us know in advance if you would like to use the EV charger and feel free to contact us if you would like more information. You will need to bring your own charging cable.
