5 BDR 4 bath - just 1.5 KL from the Presidents compound & 2 from downtown. Prettiest & safest area in Kigali. Beautiful outdoor patio expansive garden with great views of Kigali - great for sitting both day & night. Private yoga & meditation space. The house is old but has some really nice features. Almost all the furniture is locally made and much of the decorating too. The best part of the house is really the location, private quiet space, great garden and view of the city day and night. There are 5 private bedrooms and two full baths inside so guests will have to share bathrooms at times. I'm open to renting short and medium term and different rooms will be different prices as there is a difference in size. I'm just getting this house together so it is a bit of a work in progress but I'm an experienced Airbnb host (in the USA) and guest myself. I travel a lot in and out of Rwanda and finally decided just to get a permanent place here. There is also a covered patio with furniture to be an outdoor living room and dining room - more than doubling the functional living space on the property. There is a huge garden which I"m working on developing more. Pictures I think don't do justice to how nice this is. Will work on updating them. Guests will have access to all common areas inside and out. 2 bathrooms are shared with 5 bedrooms but numbers of guest may vary on different days. Outside area is really open to everyone and is the best part of the house with two outdoor toilets and showers. I travel a lot inside and out of Kigali so hard to predict exactly. Depends where I am but can help offer recommendations for what to do around Kigali and am also very close to some of the tour operators so if you need help booking trips to see the Gorillas or Akagera - or really anywhere in the country I can help. I've live in and visited Kigali on and off for past few years and think Kiyovu is the best neighborhood - very safe and beautiful. This compound is very close to President Kagame's compound so it is expecially secure. You can easily walk to downtown. It is also very close to Nyamirambo which is a very cool neighborhood. Worth checking out the Nyamirambo Women's Cooperative which also organizes neighborhood walking tours. The closest restaurant is "New Cactus" which has a great view of Kigali and the food is pretty good too. If you have a car - there is plenty of room for parking. If you're adventurous - the easiest, cheap, and fun way to get around is moto - please check out SafeMoto app - a cool new company run my dear friends of mine. Taxis are very prevalent as well and I have the phone number of several I really trust to give you a fair price and know my home. There is a full time live on guard and housekeeper who comes 5 days a week (Monday-Friday). We can arrange for weekend cleaners as well. She does inside home and laundry. Guard does gardening, security (opening and closing gate) and occasional errands as well as care for the dogs.
