“Knowe” as Carsluith Holiday Lodge is a beautiful secluded, open plan completely off-grid lodge set on a 12 acre small holding, where you can sit and relax in your own wood-fired hot tub and enjoy Galloway’s famous dark skies with views overlooking the Cree estuary. We allow max 2 pets for free, with a secluded beach just 5 minutes walk away and only 10 minutes drive away from Kirroughtree 7stanes which is a great location for mountain biking trails and forest walks. To note no sockets only usb The space Knowe Lodge is completely “off-grid” which means that there is no mains electricity, so no tv, WiFi or sockets to plug in your hairdryer or any other electrical items. Electricity for lighting is sourced from the solar panels on the roof. There are two USB plugs in the bedroom wall lights. The Water is sourced from a private spring which gets tested yearly. Dogs are welcome at Knowe lodge ( max 2 medium sized dogs ) for free. Please do not go out and leave your dog unsupervised. The open plan living area, dining area and kitchen benefits from floor to ceiling windows, taking in the breathtaking views while being warmed by the fabulous log-burning stove. Please note the log burning stove is the only heat source in the lodge but it does make it nice and warm. The kitchen has a gas oven with grill and hob and a fridge with a small freezer at the top. All pots and pans, dish-ware ,kitchen utensils, tea towels, washing up liquid and salt and pepper are provided making it suitable to cook a lovely meal, although there are takeaways nearby. The dining area has seating for 2 people with views looking out over the Cree estuary. A beautiful double bedroom with a wooden headboard and matching bedside table and a chest of drawers plus a wall-mounted full-length mirror and peg hooks to hang clothing on. Bed linen is provided. Modern bathroom with walk-in shower, toilet, basin and mirror. Towels are provided. The outside has a covered decking area with a table and bench set so you can sit outside and enjoy the view even when the weather isn’t great. The deck then spans around the outside wood fired hot tub making it a nice place to sit and relax and watch the stars. Sufficient wood for the log burning fire and hot tub is provided. If more hardwood is needed there is a charge of £10 per trug . PLEASE NOTE - For fire safety purposes the hot tub, wood burning stove or cooker cannot be left unsupervised. NO - fire pits, gazebos,drones or tea lights are allowed at Knowe lodge. As we are off grid and the power for the lights etc is from solars and battery we do ask that you only have a light on in a room when needed and don’t have all the lights on all day. There is free parking at the base of the hill then a pathway leads uphill to the lodge. Please note there may be occasionally sheep roaming in the field that leads up to the lodge and also sheep poo on the path. BIRTHDAY TREAT-£10 We can put up a birthday banner and some balloons for your special someone’s birthday inside the lodge for when you arrive. We also have nook lodge which is just as beautiful with a king bed, 2 person hot tub and great views also pet friendly. Guest access Please note the lodge is situated at the top of the hill with access via a gravel footpath. Parking is at the base of the hill. As this is a working small holding and we keep sheep in some fields and chickens please can you close gates behind you and keep dogs on a leash at all times. Please note There may be occasionally sheep roaming the field that leads up to the lodge so there might be sheep and sheep poo on the path. Other things to note Please note that the lodge is situated up an incline gravel path with parking at the base of the hill. Dogs are very welcome ( max 2 medium sized dogs ) for free. We do ask that you please clean up after your dog and please DO NOT GO OUT AND LEAVE YOUR DOG UNATTENDED. Occasionally at the owners discretion an additional small to medium sized dog might be allowed at the lodge for a £10 charge, but please ask first. There is no WiFi,tv or hairdryer with only usb charging points in the bedroom and no sockets. Water is sourced from a private spring which gets tested yearly. We do ask that please can you only have the lights on in the room you are in to help the solar battery. Please note the wood burning stove is the only heat source in the lodge. The wood-fired hot tub is emptied and cleaned between each change-over or every three/four days for longer bookings. Sufficient wood is provided. If more hardwood is needed there is a charge of £10 per trug. Knowe Lodge is not suitable for children under 12. REMOVE FOOTWEAR ON ENTERING THE LODGE. FOR FIRE SAFETY PURPOSES PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE HOT TUB, WOOD BURNING FIRE OR THE COOKER UNATTENDED AND GO OUT NO FIRE PITS, BBQs , GAZEBOS, DRONES OR TEA LIGHTS ARE ALLOWED . NO SMOKING OR VAPING IS ALLOWED IN THE LODGE OR ON THE DECK.
