The cozy yet spacious Carriage House at Welcome House Farm has been newly renovated while still maintaining its original character as a historic bank barn. It poses an open floor plan with fireplace, exposed beams, natural lighting, and bedrooms with picturesque views. A variety of friendly farm animals await guests. Perfect venue for a weekend getaway and retreat. Welcome House Farm is situated on a quiet road in Bucks County. The main house from the 1700s, as well as the carriage house, a renovated bank barn from the 1830's, are situated on 16 acres of fenced pastures and woods. The carriage house is located a hundred feet from the main house. The carriage house is spacious- about 2,300 square feet. It has three floors. The bottom floor is an entry way and mudroom which we recently outfitted with a washer and dryer. The top of the stairs is the entrance into the kitchen on the main floor. The third floor has two wings and is an open concept floor plan- one side with a set of twin beds and the other side with a king sized bed that Christian custom made using salvaged wood from the property. The main floor of the carriage house has several large windows with wonderful views, great lighting, high ceilings, and an open living and dining room area. The downstairs bedroom has a spacious closet, book case with cubby spaces, and ample windows with views of the pastures and woods. We splurged for the feather bed topper, fine cotton sheets, and tempurpedic pillow options to facilitate your comfy night's sleep. The linen closet is fully stocked with several fresh towels, a change of linens, extra blankets, and a wide variety of toiletry supplies. The kitchen and its appliances have been upgraded in January 2021- pictures to follow soon. Additional appliances are available including a kitchenaid mixer, blender, bread maker etc. There are a variety of teas and coffees as well as several ways to make your coffee: French Press, Nespresso machine, and a regular coffee maker. In the warmer months, we encourage guests to help themselves to the large flower and vegetable garden. Everything in the garden is organic, GMO free, organic and where possible, heirloom. Guests are provided fresh eggs from our free range chickens and have access to the swimming pool, which was newly renovated in 2018 and converted to saltwater. Guests and their pets are welcome to the pool. There are a variety of new loungers and chairs available- (pictures will be updated soon). The pool is fenced in for little ones' safety and is surrounded by forest on three sides providing a very tranquil backdrop for poolside relaxation. Across from and facing the pool is a sweat lodge outfitted with a ClearLight Sanctuary sauna that can accommodate four guests at a time. It also has removable benches for those that would prefer to use it as a hot yoga studio. In the cooler months, guests enjoy cozying up next to the working stone fireplace (we are happy to supply wood and kindling etc.) with provided board games and book selections. The barn is located on the other side of the stream at the back of the property and is home to one horse (Magnus), one pony (Merlyn), three pigs (Reeba and Rosco and Sir Archibald Pennyweather), five Sheep (Doris Daisy, Dahlia, Daphne, and Desoda), two miniature goats (Blossom and Buttercup). Additionally, we have a boarder collie (Ansel) and a puppy (Ani) as well as four cats (Silo, Luna, Davida, and Ryder), a few hives of honey bees and plenty of natural wildlife on the property as well. We found the farm in 2014 when due to unfortunate circumstances it was almost in foreclosure. We fell in love with it and have been working to help restore the property to its former glory ever since. Every cent earned from Airbnb has gone into and continues to go into improvements and maintenance of Welcome House Farm. We love that recurring guests are able to note new upgrades and additions with each stay and know their stay is an important contribution in restoring this historic place. Overall, it is a very peaceful place surrounded by nature. We hope that guests make themselves at home and enjoy the simple pleasures that farm life has to offer. Guest will have access to the entire carriage house as well as pool, garden, sauna, and are free to walk the grounds during their stay. Christian and I both work from home so we are available for any and all of our guests needs. We are accessible around the clock via text, calling or a knock on the door :) The nearest bus and train station is in Doylestown, the county seat, and is about 10 minutes away. There is an additional bus stop in Dublin which is about a mile from our house.
