For added privacy, our guest house/ pool/pergola is separate from main house and tucked away behind natural trees, gardens and grasses. Explore our gardens, fields and short walking trails. Plus over 100 Japanese Maples on our 7.5 acre property! Step out onto our pergola for panoramic vistas of trees, lakes and mountains that stretch as far as the eye can see. Our guest house is decorated with seasonal decor and lighting. Includes a queen bed, small sitting area, 50’ Direct/SMART TV, Star-link Internet, kitchenette with appliances, utensils, pots, pans and cooking essentials. Two burner cooktop and crockpot. Table for two and a bathroom with single shower. We provide towels, linens and toiletries. Room darkening curtains will help with a peaceful sleep. Rain or shine, a picnic and board game sitting area is located just outside under our attached canopy. Additionally swimming, sunbathing, yoga on ridge (inquire if interested), nature walks, Japanese Maples, gardens, bird, butterfly watching, star gazing and at times viewing storms from above the valley. Read a book, relax or just sit in one of our outdoor viewing areas just taking in the fresh air, views and relaxation. Our guest house/pergola area faces west providing optimal mountain-range viewing and potential for amazing sunsets. Peer to the southeast for beautiful lake, valley and long range views. We are centrally located in the foothills of NC Mountains and wine country, a convenient home base location for many NC site seeing/outdoor activities, boating, fishing, hiking, Lake Hickory, golf, restaurants, wineries and shopping in Hickory NC. Charlotte is about an hour away. Local favorites all within fifteen minute travel include Brushy Mountain Brewery, Scotties Hometown Grill, The Farmers Daughter (fresh produce, deli, sandwiches, country store) and Sandbar Grill and Marina (casual waterfront dining.) Our location is roughly an hour away from Charlotte, Asheville, Blowing Rock, Blue Ridge Parkway and Greensboro NC. Two and a half hours from Raleigh and about 6 hours from Balt/DC Area, Nashville or Atlanta. “Early morning coffee, tea or juice on the pergola? What about a glass of wine or a beverage at sunset? Add some ambiance at night building a fire in our outdoor chiminea, wood provided of course. At times, you may be viewing valley and distant mountain ranges from above the clouds. For weather watchers our location is a great vantage point to view storms in the valley. Perfect for star gazers as well. You will be able to park in close proximity to our guest house. Look for the red reflector on left side of gravel road soon after our pool/pergola. This slight uphill driveway is where to park. Owners will be available during your stay if needed. This is a shared property however guest house, pool area and pergola will be exclusive to guests during stay. Note…we will service pool area once daily. Blue Ridge Parkway recreation and site-seeing activities are only 30 miles away. Stone Mountain hiking, waterfalls and recreation park is just a bit further. Only 15 minutes to Food Lion, Walmart and local restaurants. Hickory NC restaurants, shopping and activities are within a half hour. Local themes, favorites and restaurants listed below.
