Our NON-SMOKING B&B suite has a new queen bed. Good for one person, a couple, or two friends (roll around bed available by request). Each booking has 5 days blocked in between. No pets or children. A block from Main Street Historic District, the second story private suite has a kitchen/living/dining area, bathroom, and one bedroom. The day before arrival, you will be given an entry code so you can come and go as you please. The suite is small and only suitable for two people. Our State and Town approved B&B suite was newly built in 2016 and is located on the second story of our 1852 home. **I am using the airbnb covid 19 sanitizing protocol and blocking 5 days between visits. The suite is separate from our quarters and has a private kitchen (with tile back splash), living-dining space, bathroom (with tile floor), and bedroom. You will also have the use of our large front porch. There is a new queen bed in bedroom/tables, and reading lights. There is also one roll-away twin which can be used by special request in the living room for the second guest. For all our guests' comfort, it has air conditioning in the bedroom and free on-street and off-street parking. We also have an internet tv that has 4 PBS stations, and Netflix (you will need your own account number), YouTube, etc. We also have a small art gallery off the downstairs front hallway for you to browse in. Please park in front of the house to check-in. Come up onto the porch and ring the doorbell to the right of the green front door. We will meet you in our front hall. I'll send access code in text before visit. Please park your car in our driveway (to the left of our house), straight in and all the way back. If the driveway is too muddy or icy during your stay, you may park in front of the house during the day, and at the very end of our driveway at night. [Half of the year (Oct-April) there is no parking on the street after 10:00pm.] **Please leave wet/muddy boots or shoes either in the downstairs hallway, or in the hallway upstairs outside the b and b suite. We will be available in person, phone, or text, to answer any questions guests might have during their stay, and will always be present at the beginning and the end of our guests' visit. We will give our guests the privacy they need, although they are always welcome to join us for conversation. For guests' continuing comfort: please let us know if something isn't functioning in the rental space so we can resolve the problem quickly! If guests plan to stay for more than 7 days, we will provide fresh towels and sheets at the halfway point of the visit, and do a general cleaning. Our place, Spencer House Lodging and Gallery, is located one short block from the Main Street Historic District where you will find many historic houses, the Athenaeum, Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium, St. Johnsbury Academy, and 5 historic churches. Two blocks north on Summer St. is the St. Johnsbury History and Heritage Center. We are also a short walk to Catamount Film and Arts, Eastern and Main Deli, Gatto Nero Cafe, the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail, the Monday night band concert, the Saturday farmers' market, the health club, restaurants, antique shops, and galleries. Much of what the town offers can be accessed on foot from our B&B. If you want to explore other towns and villages and would prefer to take a bus rather than your vehicle, please take a bus schedule from the B&B suite (along with any other loose brochures we have provided), or you can pick one up at the Welcome Center downtown (on Railroad St.), one of the bus stops in town. The Welcome Center also has a large variety of brochures. Or check on (EMAIL HIDDEN) We will provide guest(s) with breakfast foods of their choice, bottled water, coffee, tea, etc. We will also send a text before your visit to ask what your favorite breakfast foods are, and what you take in your hot beverage. We can provide everything from non-gluten and/or wheat-based hot and cold cereals, pastries, fresh fruit, organic eggs and toast, or a combination of these foods for more lengthy stays. Because we leave these foods in your kitchen, you will be able to eat breakfast at your leisure. (A special treat will also greet you at your arrival.) A hair dryer is provided in the bathroom. If you wear makeup, please use the brown washcloth and hand towel. If you need an iron and ironing board, there is one available in the space.
