Dogs welcome with approval (€50 per stay). The space Weinterp 76 is a completely renovated Frisian farmhouse, fully modern and updated while keeping its traditional character. The front house and the barn are two distinct but attached living spaces, so two families or several generations can stay together with plenty of room to gather and to retreat. The barn is the heart of the home, with an open-plan kitchen, two dining areas and a spacious living area with TV. Gather around the gas fireplace on cool evenings, and brew your morning coffee on the fully automatic Jura machine. Just off the main living area, a separate office lets you work in private. A full-size washer and dryer are also available for your use. The front house has a cozy library for quiet reading and a kitchenette with a stove, small fridge, dishwasher and its own dining area. Upstairs, the loft has a second TV and an Xbox for games and movies. Radiant floor heating keeps the whole house comfortable year-round. Outside, enjoy the terrace and garden, along with the ping pong table and trampoline. Guest access You'll have exclusive use of the entire house, including both the front house and the main barn living area, plus the terrace and garden. Enjoy the ping pong table and trampoline, and help yourself to the books and games on the bookcase. The garage is private and off limits to guests. Other things to note A few helpful things to know before you arrive: A sloot, one of the narrow water-filled ditches that line Dutch fields, borders the property. It's part of the countryside charm, but please keep an eye on little ones and pets near the water's edge. Wijnjewoude is a working farming village, so you may hear tractors or notice the earthy smells of the fields in spring and summer. We think it's all part of the experience! Rain in Holland is frequent and often unexpected, so please bring the outdoor seat cushions inside whenever you head out, and before you leave at the end of your stay. It keeps them dry and ready for the next sunny spell. The stairs to the loft and the stairs in the front house are both steep, so please take care with small children and older guests. Bikes can be rented from Meinsma, our local bike shop in Wijnjewoude, and they'll even drop them off and pick them up for you. The quiet country lanes and canal path make for wonderful rides. Like many country homes, we're on a septic system. To keep everything running smoothly, please flush only toilet paper, and put fats and cooking grease in the trash rather than down the drain. We're a smoke-free and vape-free home, inside and out, and we ask that Weinterp 76 be enjoyed as a peaceful retreat rather than a place for parties or events. Dogs are welcome with prior approval and a €50 fee per stay. We'll have bowls, poop bags and a dry-off towel ready for muddy paws. As a favor to our gardener, please clean up right away and keep your pup on the mowed lawn rather than in the neighbors' fields. You'll have the whole house to yourselves, with the exception of the garage, which is private. This is a very safe home in a quiet farming community, but we ask that you lock all doors and windows whenever you head out.
