Maybrock Cottage is a real gem of a find, set within over 10 acres of private land , with sea views , extremely private, a true escape. Conveniently placed on the Devon/Cornwall border we are placed in a rural AONB absolutely stunning, we have the coastal path and the most beautiful skies at night you will ever see. Surfers revisit here and families with young children love the rock pooling, or the many walks leading to the coastal path. The space We really are an ideal holiday cottage for people who want to escape busy life, we are rural as you can see in the last photographs we are on our own extremely private, with over 10 acres of land to explore. We are situated in area of outstanding beauty and Welcombe will not disappoint, with countelss walks and for the more athletic of you runs all around us. Surfers regularly visit here, great cove. Our home is very rural so grabbing your groceries to stock up before you come is key, but you can order online deliveries which work well with past guests. Our home is for people who prefer to escape hectic pace of busy lives, we wind down totally when not working. We are right on the North Devon Cornwall border so you will never be short of somewhere to go, with some outstanding beaches. There are countless attractions for all the family within driving distance, the hardest part will be trying to work out which ones you have time for Clovelly is also about a 20 minute drive up The Atlantic Highway with its quaint cobbled street leading to the small harbour. The Historic town of Bideford has all the shops you may need and well worth a visit with its restaurants and boat trips to Lundy Island. Bude is 8 miles in a car again up the Atlantic Highway and has some amazing sea food places to eat and fish are caught fresh truly mouthwatering. There are also many splendid pubs to have a drink or a quick bite. You can also find riding, golf courses and obviously the surf in this part of UK is paradise with Hartland Quay also worth a visit, again with a lovely little pub offering food with your drink. Hartland Quay is often used for filming and when you visit you will see why, truly breathtaking. Hartland Abbey is also located nearby, and there are an array of walks for the keen hikers to tick off their lists. We are very rural so you will see a pair of red deer who reside down in our woods often early in the morning or later in the evening, and a regular pheasant will often come a knocking on the back door, plus it is a haven for all kinds of wildlife, from foxes to bats, which is a winner with the children. The thatched pub called the Old Smithy is our local offering a great menu and a good pint, particularly guinness, child friendly, half a mile up road. We are very secluded and peaceful with no parking worries easily enough room for 2 to 3 cars. As we are on the cusp of North Devon and Cornwall you have best both worlds with amazing beaches. Woollacombe is a fantastic sandy very big beach with lots of dunes and space to spread out cafes perfect for children surfers everyone who wants soft sands lots ice creams and lots restaurants and places to grab bite to eat . Bude also offers great beaches with beach pool and again great cafes. Sandymouth again a great beach just so many to try. Ilfracombe is worth visit you can get boat trips lots eateries and amazing ice-cream for little ones. We love Smugglers on personal note always taking family there for meal you cannot book just get there early as very popular. great days for little ones include The Big Sheep younger children have lots fun here, also The Milky Way is up the road. Honestly so many things to do. If you are keen surfer very popular again here, and running, cycling and especially walking with all the coast walks superb. So many places to go you cannot be bored. The one thing if you stay at our home is the make the most of catching a clear warm evening you will not be disappointed with looking at the sunset then the stars from our picnic area, truly breathtaking, we never tire of how stunning this part of Devon is and how lucky we are, our grandson never wants to leave ever. All we ask is you enjoy xx Guest access We are in small village, but our home is extremely private but if you dont mind a short walk you can go to the local thatched pub, or if you have had busy day, jumping in car is no problem, big car park. The Mouth has a car park also, but again a short walk up the beach road. Other things to note Again just want to say good idea to come with your food and drink essentials as no shops in our village, and online shopping have no problem delivering your groceries to our address.
