Evergreen Escape | Two (2) Private Rooms

Welcome to Evergreen Escape! Guests have described this 100+ yr old colonial home with private, wooded yard and koi pond as a quiet, peaceful, garden oasis. You will have TWO (2) private second-floor rooms: a Bedroom and a Sitting Room! Easy access to Turnpike, SEPTA buses & regional rail, shopping and dining. Ideal for a vacationer, student, business traveler - Anyone looking to stay near, but outside of Philadelphia. Please note: NO Childproofing Features Are Available. The space Evergreen Escape is a Certified Wildlife Habitat, Bird Sanctuary and Firefly Habitat with native plants, trees and shrubs. Friends feel my home is welcoming and comfortable, with things I love featured throughout - an antique tea-cart that was my late Aunt's, one-of-a-kind papyrus artwork from when I worked in Egypt, and some small treasures from my various travels. Please Note: NO Childproofing Features Are Available. **Please note: the yard has been impacted pond and deck renovations, but will be back to normal spring 2027. You will have plenty of personal space because you will have two (2) private rooms: a bedroom and a sitting room (labeled as Living Room in photos). Each room has separate climate controls so you can set the heat and air conditioning to your personal comfort level. You'll also have your own in-room refrigerator and in-room microwave. If you need to get some work done, feel free to connect your laptop and power cord to the docking station or the extra monitor. Did you forget to pack something? Full and travel sized toiletries are stocked in your bedroom. The second-floor Bathroom (with a heated tile floor) is shared with me. During your stay, I do my best to plan my showering for when you are out and about so there's no disruption to your schedule. Please note, the bathroom is located on the Second Floor with the shower is inside the soaker tub. Guests will need to step over the 20" high side of the tub to access the shower. Guests are welcome to use the shared kitchen for quick or simple meal preparation. Please review the Guest Access section for more details. You'll feel safe and secure with off-street parking and your own access code for the front door that is set for the duration of your stay. Relax on the back deck, next to the koi pond, in one of the gazebos, or by the firepit or take a swim in the pool. Watch your own personal light show in the summer as fireflies dance through the mature evergreens in the early evening and or enjoy periodic serenading by birds as they flit through the trees. Birds, deer, foxes, raccoons, opossums, squirrels, hawks, and other native species enjoy lounging in the yard. They are welcome visitors that typically keep to themselves. This is the Only Listing in my home so there will be no other paying guests during your stay. The first-floor dining room, living room and powder room are my primary living space, so they are not included in this listing. This is a quiet, shared, owner-occupied home with a peaceful atmosphere, so quiet hours are observed from 10 PM to 8 AM. Come see why this is my stay-cation home! Guest access You will have your own entry code for the front door for the duration of your stay, so your schedule is your own. Private Rooms and the shared bathroom are located on the second floor accessed via a steep, narrow stepped staircase typical of 100+ homes. You will have access to the kitchen during your stay for quick/convenience meal preparation on the stovetop or in the convection microwave oven. Dishes, pots and pans and cooking utensils are available to you as are food storage containers that you may take with you if you need. Please note that I do a lot of cooking but I will do my best to accommodate your schedule. Enjoy a meal at the breakfast bar with full view of the back yard (referred to as dining table under amenities). During warmer weather, feel free to dine on the back deck or in one of the gazebos. Filtered water is available from the dispenser on the refrigerator door and there is a freshly filled bottle in the refrigerator in your private sitting room. Although the basement laundry area is not technically part of the listing, if you find you need to launder clothes, please feel free to ask for access to it during your stay. Please note the basement door is not locked and has an older turned staircase with no railing. Basement is also used as a workshop and storage area. Please note that I Do Not allow pets. Miss Opal, my skittish brown tabby, has full range of the house; although you probably will not see her during your stay. She was formerly feral, so if you do see her, please do not approach her or attempt to handle her so she can feel safe. During your stay I'll personally greet you when you arrive to show you around the house and answer any questions you may have. When I'm home, I'm typically relaxing in my living room or by the koi pond. I follow my guest's lead for the amount of interaction we have. Although I work typical business hours and keep a social calendar, I'm always available via the Airbnb app, phone, or text. Please let me know if there is anything you need! Other things to note Township regulations restrict me to a maximum of 2 guests. However, I can only accommodate 1 (one) guest for stays more than 9 nights. On Saturdays and Sundays I extend the check-in time to 4:00 PM and the check-out time to 10:00 AM. Please Note: NO Childproofing Features Are Available. I'm sure we all understand being safe, so, please send a recent photo so I can identify you when you arrive. Also, everyone on your reservation must have an Identity Verified profile with Airbnb and is requested to provide me both their first and last names. I tend to err on the side of more information, so I've compiled a detailed house manual to help orient you to the property. Please note, the pool and yard amenities are not available between the Wednesday prior to and the Wednesday after Memorial Day due to Host's annual BBQ party. My mother lives in an adjoining in-law apartment with a private entrance and separate living spaces. She does not share the guest areas of my home. Guests are prohibited from receiving mail or packages. Guests staying longer than 28 days may be asked to sign a guest agreement.
