Private Room ‘B’ in a Villa with Pool

The B Room is a private room at a Villa in Pondicherry called KARIAPPA HOUSE, which is a sprawling family estate, located in the fast gentrifying fishing hamlet of Vaithikuppam, adjoining the French precinct. I live on the property and am available to guests whenever required. I am assisted by trusted old family caretakers. Although the main attractions are within walking or cycling distance, the house and grounds of the Villa itself are a great place to relax and rejuvenate. The space The Villa is located about 500m inland from the sea and the house spreads out horizontally, hence we do not have a sea view. However, you can reach the sea after a 3 min walk. Pondicherry does not have swimming beaches but you can enjoy the rocky coastline. The approach to the house is partly along the sea and partly through quaint Tamil houses and narrow lanes. There is a temple nearby and on certain very specific days you can hear drums and chanting. The entire property is a group of interconnected houses set amongst gardens and courtyards. Some of the studios are occupied by long stay residents who are mainly writers or artists. There is a beautiful covered lap pool on the property, more for exercising than lounging in. Guest access Guests can access all areas of the outdoor gardens, verandas, terrace and the main dining room and the swimming pool. During your stay I live on the property and am available to guests whenever required. I am assisted by trusted old family caretakers. Other things to note The entire property is a quiet retreat. We request our guests to maintain this peaceful atmosphere. It is very conducive for writers and creative people and those who want to just go inward. Hence it is not an ideal place for children younger than 12 who will not have much to do. We offer home cooked meals (lunch and dinner) on request and extra payment. Other facilities available are a Massage Room (Male/female masseuse available on call) and Yoga teacher available on call.
