Twenty years ago my grandfather Antonio's farm was born where the land was cultivated and the cows that produced milk for the cheeses and mozzarella processed in the family dairy were grazed. Closed for some time , for 4 years my partner and I have been back in the game and the management of the company has resumed. The goal is to restore "Il Rifugio del Contadino" as it was originally created...and beyond , trying to offer our customers an experience full of stimuli . Nestled in the green Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park, adjacent to the "homeric coasts" , the Rifugio del Contadino is a country house surrounded by centuries-old olive trees, vegetable gardens and a small farm , equipped with 6 bedrooms with beautiful sea views on the east side facing the Gulf of Policastro and the imposing Mount Bulgheria on the west side. The Hut is a delicate balance of sensations . You are immersed in its landscape as in a picture with bright and vivid colors that still seem fresh ; it is silence , it is the smell of land and Mediterranean vegetation and when moved by the sirocco tastes of the sea and it is there , that you can touch it. How can you touch and pick the vegetables of the generous garden with which take life and taste the recipes of Cilento cuisine to be enjoyed sitting on the terrace from which you can enjoy a breathtaking view. But my passion for the land also passes through love , research and the collection of wild wild herbs that I transform and work on producing soaps , ointments , oleolites , creams and herbal teas . Concept therefore enclosed in a name "MAGARìE". Here nothing is an artifact ; you grasp the originality given by spontaneity , and pass the imperfection , it is added value and you feel at home. But the Refuge is not only a culture of the place of food in compliance with tradition , filtered by the senses as mentioned sofar . From this year, culture also passes through art in a project that takes the name "Il Rifugio del Contadino Residenza D’Artista ". Space dedicated to art exhibitions and to make art , a space that opens to beauty open to discussion and philosophical dialogue, a space dedicated to the sharing of knowledge and therefore inclusion .
