The screened porch at the back of the house is cool and pleasant and dry when the deck is too warm or wet. As this is our home and we love to cook, the kitchen is well-stocked and has most anything you might want or need (though you may have to hunt for it). Downtown Blacksburg offers restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, the Farmer's Market, the Moss Arts Center, and the restored Lyric Theater. All are a quick walk from our house. A block away is the Huckleberry Trail, a local bike (or walking/running) trail that goes all the way to Christiansburg (~7 miles). If you enjoy the outdoors, there are numerous day hikes with spectacular views within a 45-minute drive from Blacksburg. Surrounding Area activities: The New River is a 20-minute drive and presents opportunities for fishing, kayaking, canoeing, and tubing.
