Other things to note This listing offers our guests all the essentials (eg. toilet paper, shampoo, liquid soap,...) for the first two-three days of their stay. Should these need to be refilled for the remaining part of their stay, I will be pleased to indicate a few places where guests may buy them according to their needs. Since 2015 Portugal has more strictly enforced a long-standing law requiring anyone providing paid holiday accommodation to record the entry, exit, and identification details of all non-Portuguese nationals who use that accommodation. This law has been brought into force in Portugal and most other EU countries at some point since the gradual implementation of the 1990 Schengen Agreement that aims to stop human trafficking and other illegal practices. In this case, it is specifically Article 45 of the Schengen Agreement and the recent Alojamento Local law in Portugal that has brought this rule into sharper focus. For this reason, all guests are required to show their passports or ID, so that such mandatory information may be dully submitted to Immigration and Borders Service. Also, as of March 2018 a new regulation entered into force that will require all hosts in Porto to collect tourist tax from their guests and remit it to the municipality. This tax is 2€ per person per night, up to a limit of 7 nights. Children with less than 13 years old, handicapped guests or guests travelling for medical purposes are exempt upon presentation of proof. This tax will be collected to you at check in, so that it may be then remitted to the municipality at the end of the month. You may learn more about it through a flyer that you will find in the apartment upon your arrival. Registration Details 58435/AL
