West Room w Queen Bed: Eddie Sargent House

This is one of Owen Sound's finest homes. Built by a general merchant in 1887, it retains its light and historic charm, but has been extensively updated for modern day comfort. This large bedroom has large west-facing windows with a black-out blind and a queen-sized bed with the option of a single mattress on the floor (beds can accommodate three adults, or one adult and two children or two adults and one child). The room is stocked with toys and books suitable for 3 to 12-year-olds. The space This is a big Victorian house ideally suited to couples or families with children. The house is fully stocked with toys for indoor and outdoor play. The yard is 1.7 acres with a large deck for lounging, reading or having a BBQ. There is a swing set, trampoline (June to September) and a firepit that guests may use. I can supply a lighter, paper and kindling, but guests must supply their own bags of wood. Please note there is no air conditioning but working with the sun and the window blinds the house can be kept at or below 24.5 degrees even in prolonged summer heatwaves. I do provide room fans. Note that this is also a family home and is historically significant. Please treat the home and grounds with respect as you would your own. Guest access Common spaces (kitchen, dining room, bathrooms and outdoor areas) are shared. Feel free to use the yard and back patio. Please note the living room is primarily for host and family. Guest use is at the discretion of the host. During your stay As much or as little as you want. I am here to help, give recommendations on what to see and do and I have lots of maps! Other things to note There are tons of toys (indoor and outdoor) and books suitable for kids. There is a playhouse, swing set, small slide and trampoline (July and August) on the 1.7 acre property. There is a small park a two-minute walk from the house and a beach, splashpad and hiking path a two-minute drive away. Your kids will never not have something to do! The only problem is, they will not want to leave... Guests may use the fire pit but must supply their own wood. I can supply a lighter, paper and kindling. There may occasionally be a small-to-medium sized hypoallergenic dog on site. His name is Timbo and he will welcome you excitedly. He is very well behaved and good with children of all ages. If you want to throw him a ball in the back yard he will love you forever.
