For the more experienced hiker, you can proceed further down the hill, but keep in mind that the landscape becomes a bit steep and challenging. Callicoon is a quaint little town just 10 minutes away with plenty of cute shops, great places to eat, and an old movie theater for entertainment! * Additional cleaning fee added to groups over 8 people. * $25 Pet fee (all pets must be approved prior to your stay, but we are pet friendly!) * Our base price is for two guests. This will allow the smoke to exit easily up the chimney and not into the Great Room. To do this, just pull the metal chain hanging on the left side of the fireplace until the chain is released and unlatches the Chimney damper. Firewood is provided. At the beginning, we would encourage you to pull down and up on the chain a couple times to start the air flow in the chimney. When the fire has died down, please remember to close the damper by pulling down the chain and latching it before you leave. We have radiant heat floors, so please be mindful of that and don't leave anything that could be flammable on them. To turn the thermostat up or down: -One is located to the right of the door going into the Great Room and controls the heating in that room. -for the kitchen/living room area, the thermostat is next to the table with the telephone -for heating in the addition, the thermostat is right on the other side of the wall from the last one mentioned
