The large indoor / outdoor style villa with large sliding glass doors from living area and the bedrooms, looks over the pool and the green jungle valley below. > 60sq/m Deluxe Bedroom > 2 Guests > 1 King size bed > 1 Bathroom > WiFi - 100Mbps (Biznet) > Living area inside with a large sofa > Outdoor day bed area approx 11m > Large modern kitchen > Refrigerator > 5 burner gas cooktop & oven > Ensuite bathroom with shower, and large bathtub > A/C & ceiling fan in rooms > USB & INTL sockets The space The room has a King sized bed (convertible to twins on request) and high quality cotton bedding. Bedroom is outfitted with AC; ceiling fan, water dispenser (hot & cold); safety box; tea/coffee tray; TV, desk to work from if needed, 3 intl sockets, built in robe with lots of storage. There is a private large bathroom, featuring freestanding stone bath & small garden, wide door to accommodate wheelchairs, handrail next to the toilet and a second shower attachment for people who need to shower sitting down. All bedroom and bathroom doors can be locked. Both Deluxe Suites are 60 sq/m. In the common area you will find a large kitchen, a huge living room and a dining room overlooking the swimming pool and the cabana. The living area also has a powder room next to the office which has a wide door and hand rail to assist people with a disability. There is an 11m day bed and an undercover outdoor sitting area to escape the sun if needed. The day bed also features 2 wood consoles with International sockets + 3 USB plugs so you can charge your laptop or phone beside the pool if required. Information about the various warungs recommendations will be provided in the villa manual. The Pool: The large infinity pool (4.5 x12m in size + 1.6m depth both ends) is spectacular with ledges and steps at each end and a raised ledge which allows you enjoy the view of the valley below. The pool is made from stone tiles to blend in to the natural environment and is treated with chlorine. There is an outdoor shower near the pool if you want to rinse off after a swim. Please note that there is no pool fence so it is not safe for children under the age of 10. Wi-Fi: We provide high speed fiber optic WIFI throughout the entire villa via Biznet. Security and Parking: Villa Merdu is completely enclosed and secure via a gated private parking area, large enough for a number of scooters and two vehicles. * NB: when a driver delivers you to Villa Merdu, please ask the to drive ALL THE WAY DOWN to the parking area, as there is plenty of room to turn around & drive back out* Guest access All guests have full access to the villa, and the kitchen, which is equipped with cutlery, plates, pots, pans, a rice cooker, blender, industrial gas oven/gas cook top, hot/cold water cooler, sandwich press, toaster etc. PLEASE NOTE: If you are renting this room, the villa has 3 rooms, so the facilities are shared. ie: the pool, the living, dining & kitchen areas, day bed etc, with the other 2 rooms IF there are guests booked in to them. Other things to note Housekeeping and Laundry: Our housekeeper will clean the villa daily. Room cleaning will be at a time that suits you best. There are 2 laundromats close-by to the villa. (A medium sized bag will cost you around $4-5 USD – 24hr turn around). * for expensive pieces of clothing, we recommend you hand wash these yourself.* Masseur: We also have a number of massage therapists who - by appointment – are available to give treatments at the villa. Therapists will bring their own massage tables, and command 240,000 Rp per hour. Other things to note: Temples in Bali: Please note that if you are visiting a temple you will need to wear appropriate clothing (women must wear a long sleeved shirt or dress, a sash or scarf around your waist, and a long skirt to cover your legs. Women please note: you may not go into a temple whilst menstruating. Men must wear long pants and a shirt which covers your shoulders. Everyone must wear something on their feet. Please do not take photographs inside a temple without permission and certainly not when a ceremony is underway. Craft, Art and Cooking: During your stay in Ubud, you will find a lot of artistic creations from wood carving, jewellery making, to batik material workshops and landscape painters. Villa Merdu is located in Junjungan, north of Ubud, minutes drive from the Ubud Palace. You are closer to Tegallalang Rice Terraces, and Tirta Empul water temple, by being on the north side. The villa faces east, & benefits from a cool breeze coming across the valley up to the villa. The temps at the villa is 5-6 deg cooler than by the ocean.
