We're simply the best place from which to explore Cape Town. Check out our reviews.... The space The price is for the apartment, which sleeps two or three adults. It's a big one-bedroomed flat with separate kitchen, bathroom and patio very close to Table Mountain and within walking distance of the central city of Cape Town. Everyone who walks in says: 'Wow, it's bigger than it looks in the photos'. Perhaps I should have used a wide-angle lens :-) There's a bus stop nearby and secure off-road parking behind a gate if you have a car. We have Wi-Fi . Just for fun, we have a bush shower on the patio so you can watch clouds scud across the blue sky as you shower (yes, it does have a shower curtain). Some love it, others wouldn't think of trying. African Sun is in a quiet neighbourhood. There are good shops and six excellent, trendy restaurants within strolling distance. Both of us are writers. We're great on information about where to go, what to see and who to contact for traveling in Africa. We speak English, Italian and a bit of French. Any creed, colour, culture or LGBT most welcome. We draw the line at giraffes, camels and platypuses. Well okay maybe polar bears as well. And of course there's Cape Town - consistently rated as one of the finest cities in the world to visit. We know where you can see the Big Five African animals within an hour and there's stuff to do like wine tours, shark cage diving, para-gliding, mountain and rock climbing. Also the city is mountain-bike mad with some great routes and bikes to hire. Most guests say: 'I wish I booked for longer'. Guest access We're close to great restaurants and a neat little supermarket. Also the heart of the city and Tale Mountain are conveniently nearby. Other things to note IMPORTANT: Cape Town is experiencing a critical WATER SHORTAGE with no rain forecast for the rest of the southern summer months. Please use only what you absolutely have to and help us conserve this no precious resource. ALSO: Because Airbnb sets the BOOKING DATES from day of arrival to day of departure, guests sometimes think the morning departure date is actually that night's sleepover. If we don't have guests booked on that extra night it's no problem, but when we do there's a mad scramble for alternative one-night accommodation elsewhere. And in Cape Town that's sometimes hard to find at the last minute. So please keep this in mind when you book. ANOTHER bit of advice because we're next to a beeeeg mountain. PLANNING A TABLE MOUNTAIN HIKE trail run or mountain bike adventure? Keep the following safety tips in mind. * NEVER hike, run, cycle ALONE. *PLAN your route from start to end and choose the route according to the ability, fitness and experience of the group. This will prevent potential injury. *INFORM us or someone exactly which route you are taking as well as your expected time of return and stick to this route and plan. *Always go PREPARED for bad weather, i.e. take proper weatherproof clothing even on a sunny day (wind and rain proof); torches - with spare batteries and globes; good footwear - strong boots or shoes with non-slip soles; food; water; a flask of tea or some other beverage; a rucksack to carry it all in - to leave your arms and hands free. * Preferably CLIME WITH SOMEBODY who knows the way or carry a guidebook, map or route description. We can lend you an excellent map. *Keep to the DESIGNATED ROUTES on well-used paths. Heed signs advising of danger and do not take short cuts or unknown routes. *Leave VALUABLES behind. Stuff has occasionally been stolen on more remote climes.
