Norwood Cottage was the former stables to a country house in the sort after area of High Casterton, Kirkby Lonsdale. The cottage is situated in a small hamlet with a stunning footpath from its doorstep which leads you all the way to the beautiful Georgian town of Kirkby Lonsdale. The footpath takes you past High Casterton golf course, along a tree lined path and along the river to the town where you will find boutique shops, award winning restaurant and pubs. Relax, unwind and enjoy..... Other things to note Pubs With the current situation, I would recommend that you book even if it is just a drink as most places are operated a limited table service. There are a number of good pubs in Kirkby Lonsdale: Most of which do food also. The restaurants are very busy on a weekend, so it’s advisable to book. We allow 2 small dogs or 1 large dog. No smoking policy Smoking is not allowed inside the cottage. Mobile phone signal We do not have a phone in the cottage however there is quite a strong mobile signal. You can use internet-based phone platforms like Whatsapp or Facebook messenger etc. Breakages If there are any breakages during your stay, just let us know on departure so we can replace the items for the next guests. Septic tank The cottages waste system is via a septic tank. So please be careful not to put bleach, Wet wipes etc down the toilet/sink. It is however susceptible to food waste, so you can empty your leftover meal/food waste down the toilet. General Waste and Re-cycling There are bins outside the cottage for waste and recycling. The black bin is kitchen waste only (over on the gravel parking area), the blue boxes are for glass and paper (clearly marked). The blue bag is for plastic and tin. There is a copy of the recycling schedule and timetable in the welcome file.There are also additional recycling facilities in Booths, Kirby Lonsdale at the lower car park. General items The cottage is equipped with everything you should need during your stay, but if you do find we are missing something, please give us feedback. Domestic supplies We supply the following items: Fresh bedding and towels, tea towels, hand wash, washing up liquid, general cleaner, kitchen roll, clothes, a sponge, toilet rolls and bin bags. We also supply tea, coffee and sugar, salt, pepper, oil and vinegar. Logs/Coal We do provide a starter supply of logs, coal & firelighters during the winter months (usually between Oct and April, weather dependent). TV and DVD The cottage has a Samsung TV and DVD player, with remote control. In addition, we have supplied a sky box which will give you freeview channels only.
