The Kiteshack

Wake up to the sound of many different bird species and a view towards the West Coast National Park. This little garden apartment is attached to the main house but has its own entrance and easy access to the neighbouring reserve. The space This is a fun and functional little space which is naturally cool in summer and equipped with a tiny fireplace to keep it cosy in winter. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a simple dinner and there is also an outdoor braai spot in the sheltered garden. There is a path that leads into the adjacent nature reserve from our front gate. A five minute walk (depending on how many times you stop for wildlife) will take you to a great sundowner spot with a view over the lagoon. For kitesurfers: A short drive or ten minute walk down the hill will take you to Shark Bay for kitesurfing or an early morning swim. The main beach and shops are a five minute drive away. For nature lovers: If you're a birder or a botanist, this is a magical retreat. In spring the reserve adjacent to the house is packed with an incredible diversity of flowers. The house is a five minute drive from the Langebaan gate of the West Coast National Park, perfect for early morning birding trips. Please note that the front garden and laundry is shared with 'The Treehouse', the upper story of the main house, which can be rented separately via AirBnB if extra accommodation is needed. Guest access Guests are welcome to roam around our wild garden, keeping in mind that it's a shared space with the main house. There is access to a shared laundry with washing machine and dryer. Other things to note The apartment has one queen sized bed in the bedroom, plus a sleeper couch in the lounge (please make sure to request extra bedding in advance if you're using the sleeper couch), however, the bathroom is accessed through the bedroom, so we'd like to limit the number of people to two. Bathroom has a spacious shower over bath. Please note that our garden is wild and unirrigated so it will reflect the season and house many critters.
