Our home is located in a burgeoning urban area. The improvements to older homes are sweeping through each neighborhood and our home is in one of those neighborhoods. It is located between the Strathmore and Brighton neighborhoods. Strathmore is a historic area with many beautiful turn of the century homes. Strathmore is home of one of the cities most beautiful parks, Upper Onondaga Park, which is only a five min walk from the home. The park features meandering paths through weeping willows, a stone bridge, kayak rentals on the pond and an iconic island gazebo. This park is frequently used by wedding and local photographers. Brighton, which is the area a block behind our home, is a diverse and growing urban neighborhood. You may see some vacant properties, but the neighborhood is coming back to life one house at a time. Keep in mind that this home is on a busy city street that has vehicle traffic and typical city noises. We are excited to see improvements continue into the surrounding neighborhoods. Nearby attractions: Beak and Skiff Apple Orchard, with nationally recognized spirits, ciders and wine as well as pick your own apples and other delicious goods. Beak and Skiff also features a popular concert venue.m for nationally touring bands. Syracuse Stage, Landmark Theater and the Oncenter are all great venues for shows, theater and other events. Salt City Market is a new market place style community space where you can try some of the best local restaurants as well as Salt City Coffee/bar that features an iconic patio area, with outdoor fire feature and mini playground. Salt City Market also features a grocery coop, a great place to pick up vegan, gluten free and organic groceries. Of course, you can’t forget Destiny USA only minutes away. All guests should arrive with the expectation of a city life experience, full of life and energy! Drive north on Onondaga Ave to head downtown. Armory Square has several excellent restaurant options. If you head north on Onondaga Ave, and turn right on Brighton St. you will be headed right towards Syracuse University as well as Upstate University Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital and Crouse Hospital. To head to Upstate Community Hospital, drive south down Onondaga Ave, then turn right on South Ave. You will drive up the hill and Upstate will be on your left. In that same area is Onondaga Community College. Once you pass Upstate Community Hospital, you will arrive at the intersection of South Ave and Seneca Turnpike. Turn right onto the turnpike, drive a few miles and you will arrive at OCC on your right hand side. You also have quick access to the suburbs through the West St. 690 onramps. Drive north on Onondaga Ave, turn left on West St and drive straight till you reach the 690 west and east ramps. This property is the lower flat in a duplex. You may hear some passive noise from upstairs. Please do not smoke inside, there is a small back porch that you can use for smoking ($250 fee will be billed if we discover weed, vaping and/or cigarettes smell in the apartment).
