Take a stroll through our extensive gardens, or enjoy million-dollar sunsets each night overlooking Petaluma & Rohnert Park. Your studio is set on 50 acres in the hills overlooking Sonoma County. The apartment is cozy and you can walk right outside to view sprawling vineyards and large oak trees. Your private studio is located right near our main house and field of cows (we are both quiet neighbors!) Your room will be furnished with high quality linens on a queen size bed. Foodies can celebrate as you will also enjoy a kitchen equipped with high-quality cookware and basic condiments to create your own "farm to fork" experience! Also included in the kitchen are both a french press and traditional coffee maker, with a variety of coffees and teas to choose from. The grounds are open to weddings and events from 10-250 people, and we encourage you to tour the gardens and oak groves. Cocktail/Pizza Oven parties up to 50 people can also be offered in the main house in a spacious gathering area with a view you won't find anywhere else! Any private events are subject to additional rental fees. Overnight guests will have full access to their private studio duplex apartment. You will have your own private entrance, kitchen & bathroom. Numerous well-placed patios offer full panoramic valley views or overlook the 60 feet of naturally landscaped waterfalls set in front of mature oaks & Sonoma Mountain view. As a guest you are welcome to walk the grounds and enjoy pastoral views of cattle grazing, wide open panoramic views of local vineyards, and picnics among the oak trees and waterfalls await you. The opportunity for biking and hiking is literally right out the front door! Perfect for beginners or those in training for competition. Building memories is something we do with our own family, and love to extend that to our guests. We are a family-oriented, retired couple who have had career success in the restaurant business, and are still active and working in the agricultural business community. Through our life experiences, we have developed not only a great love for Sonoma County, but for our friends who visit us from around the world! Sonoma Mountain Terrace affords the luxury of being immersed in the farm experience by observing milking twice a day or helping bottle feed one of our darling baby calves. You also have the privacy to do absolutely nothing but enjoy the fresh, coastal air. We have some furry friends besides the cows, including a cat and dog, some very cute pasture donkeys, and even some wild turkeys that will stroll through in the early mornings. The property boasts many yards of historical original drystack rock walls built during General Vallejo's ownership. Penngrove is a sweet rural town set in the heart of the wine country. Our house is tucked away on top of Sonoma Mountain. We are told by most that our property is a Treasure of God's Country. (But we already knew that!) Centrally located and close to countless Northern California attractions. You must have a car to get around. Our driveway alone is one mile long! And just up the mountain from us is a secret place called 'Gravity Hill'... it's a must do, especially with children. We have lived in Sonoma County all our lives, and truly enjoy sharing this part of the world with any and all friends who make this their vacation escape! We highly recommend planning extra time to visit Bodega Bay, Pt Reyes National Seashore, Napa, Yountville, St Helena, Sebastopol, Petaluma, Egg Basket of the World, World's Wrist Wrestling Championships, Vintage Car Shows, California Artisan Cheese Festival, BBQ Competitions, Wine Country, California Redwoods, Armstrong Grove, and the mighty Pacific Ocean. Located near Sonoma State University, Green Music Center and Weil Hall & Schroeder Hall, you'll also find a vast micro-brew culture as well with such well-known breweries as Lagunitas, Petaluma Hills, 101North, and HenHouse Brewing Co.
