Charming lodge in medieval village

Charm and simplicity in a setting where greenery and old stones marry with happiness. For 4 to 5 people, 2 bedrooms, kitchen opening onto a small terrace adorned with a climbing vine, sitting area on mezzanine offering one additional sleeping. The space New on the market, available year round, including june, july, august and september Castelnou is a catalan medieval village dating from the 11th century, nestled in the mountains of the Roussillon region. It is located 180 km from Barcelona, 17 km from Perpignan and only 30 minutes from the nearest beaches. The "La Parra" lodge is set in an ideal location. Its residents profit from a peaceful setting away from the animation of the village and may choose to hike a number of trails that start nearby. The arbor entrance of the lodge is typical of traditional catalan interiors while the lodge itself occupies the top floor of a large house where its family resides in the summer. At other times the renters are free to use the large shaded terrasse adjoining the main house. Inside you will find a living room corner, a fully equipped kitchen bordered by a small veranda where you can have your meals under the arbor, two bedrooms (one double, the other with a simple bed and a 120 bed), a water cabinet with a shower and a toilet space. An extra 120 bed on the mezzanine makes room for extra guests. Guest access It is advisable to travel by car during your stay since there is no market in the village (although there are numerous excellent restaurants and a local market on tuesdays held next to the church). Markets and other shops can be found 5 km from Castelnou in the village of THUIR. There you will also find a charming market held on Saturdays. Castelnou is a fortified village and therefore it remains pedestrian. Free parking is available a few meters from the entrance of the village. Other things to note The house has 3 terraces of different levels. The largest, adjoining the lower part of the house, is reserved for the family during it stays there. The second, shared, for the linen ropes, and that of the entrance of the gîte, smaller, reserved for the tenants.
