The space AVAILABLE Mystic Outdoor Art Festival Weekend Saturday 8/10 & Sunday 8/11 THE HOUSE: is an 1853 Italianate Victorian restored by the Architect Owners. Tall ceilings, gracious rooms, large windows, striking detail, hand-planed panel doors, and plank floors evoke a prosperous period in Mystic's Seafaring Heritage. Captain Wheeler sailed ships to China. The original design of his substantial home has been preserved, incorporating new systems & modern conveniences. Guest access GUEST ACCESS: A lovely staircase leads to the 4 bedrooms upstairs from the ample center stair hall which extends from the front door to the back wing and allows access to the 1st floor parlor, dining rooms and kitchen. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen, lounge in the rockers on the front porch, sit at the table on the covered side porch and enjoy the garden. The upstairs hall, decorated with handmade family quilts, offers entrance to the 4 bright corner bedrooms, each with appealing views over the historic harbor environs. 2 leather lounge chairs comprise a small seating area at the front of the house for reading or TV. During your stay We enjoy meeting our guests and one of us is most likely to be home to greet you and answer any specific questions. A handy information book on our home and area is readily available and should answer most questions. We are available by cell/txt/email should you need us if we are out. We look forward to your visit and meeting you. Other things to note The bedroom is on the 2nd floor which may make accessibility difficult for some with mobility concerns. There is a powder room on the 1st floor. There are steps from the ground to the 1st floor. Access via the covered side porch is most frequently used & convenient to the on-street parking & walking to town. This route has about 10 steps.
