The Chalet has a true mountain/cabin feel, with unique decor and is located at 4200 feet on Mt. Shasta and is private and secluded with only a couple of neighboring houses. Outdoor activities can be enjoyed right on the property. Because of the open outdoors and private location, kids can play with ease right outside. The house can easily accommodate up to 14 guests and has a very interesting design layout. The Chalet is situated 5 miles East of Mt. Shasta City and 8 miles from the beautiful community of McCloud. If you are wanting to escape the crowded surrounding of people and houses you will find the Chalet a wonderful rural feeling place to visit. You cannot get any closer to the Mount Shasta Ski Park than here. During winter months you are only a few minutes from the Ski Park Hwy turn off, and can enjoy Nordic Skiing, Alpine Skiing, Mountain Tubing, Sledding, Dog sledding, snowmobiling, snow shoeing and ice skating. We are situated at about 4200 feet so are well within the snow levels and in fact many sports can be enjoyed right on the property. The Chalet is fully furnished and you can enjoy cedar vaulted ceilings with slate floors and custom hickory cabinets. This chalet boasts five bedrooms four bedrooms have queen beds, one has bunk beds and as a very unique feature of this chalet the basement is fully finished with it's own TV/ DVD player, two queen size bed nooks and a sofa sleeper, for a total of 6 queen beds, 2 twin beds and the sofa sleeper. There are three full bathrooms, one on each level. The chalet has a very cabin feel inside and is furnished to make you feel comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with all of the equipment you need to feel right at home. There is Direct TV along with a video library, some books and board games, WI-fi access and an open loft/office area if you find you might need a desk. There is an uncovered patio/deck along with a covered deck and a briquette BBQ grill. There is a small corral for your horses, dimensions are approximately 30' X 36' and just 3 miles down the road are ample equestrian accommodations for larger groups with horses. Trails can be accessed right from the property for your recreational needs. There is ample parking with plenty of room should you be pulling a trailer of any kind. The road is kept clear during winter months but four wheel drive is recommended. Well behaved dogs are allowed with a deposit and price is based on occupancy so whether you are just looking for an intimate getaway with you and your partner or you have a large group of people that wants to enjoy a fabulous time, this is the place for you. There is something for everyone: you can hike the mountain, bring your horses, bring your mountain bikes, quads or snowmobiles, explore the local waterfalls, lakes and rivers, enjoy any sport during any season, or simply kick back and enjoy the magic of Mount Shasta. This house rents one month (31 days) at a time. This is a very unique property that borders USFS land, so the Mountain is yours to explore from bikes, quads, horses, snowmobiles, skis, snow shoes or on foot. We live very nearby, so we can be reached very easily but we really love to allow you quiet enjoyment of the property. Once you are checked in, you will be able to enjoy the property without interruption from us. The Chalet is situated on 6 acres and is very private, located at 4200 feet on Mt. Shasta and only 3 miles from Mt. Shasta City. Though we keep our road completely plowed and accessible, 4x4 vehicles are still recommended during winter months. During the summer, many people choose to bike to and from the Chalet as well as ride quads or horses and/or hike around exploring the beautiful area.
