Country cottage in Morchard Bishop, near Dartmor

Self contained country cottage with own garden, dogs welcome, splendid views. Easy access to Exeter, the North and South coast of Devon as well as the stunning countryside of Dartmoor and Exmoor. Hillbarton is a fully equipped comfortable house in a peaceful rural location and is an ideal base for exploring Devon and North Cornwall. My friendly dogs live next. Due to the current high fuel prices we reserve the right to charge for electricity that is used above our allowance of £10.00 per day The space Hillbarton is a large Victorian farmhouse, built in 1893, situated on a hillside surrounded by open farmland and overlooking the village of Morchard Bishop. The views extend all the way to Dartmoor, some 15 miles away.The house stands in a large garden and a private area has been set aside for guests. The cottage has a modern kitchen with hob, oven and grill, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle and toaster as well as a dishwasher. There is comfortable sitting room and a separate dining room. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, the larger bedroom is a double and the other has 2 single bunk beds as well a family bathroom. There is a double sofa bed in the dining room to provide extra sleeping accommodation which is also useful for those who might find a steep staircase difficult, there are 17 steps! Outside there is room to park up to 2 cars and beyond an enclosed lawned garden which is a safe and private area for all the family, including pets if you have them. There are lots of footpaths around Morchard Bishop with plenty of choice of walks from the house in the area, the 2 Moors Way passes through the village. Within 25 miles there are the North and South coasts of Devon and both Dartmoor and Exmoor. There is even a local railway station at Morchard Road from where we can collect guests. Guest access You will have your own parking area in front of the house, your own front door and your own garden.
