The Granary Thirsk Luxury Holiday Cottage Barn

The Granary is a converted 19 century barn .(no pets ) Private parking and beautiful peaceful gardens with fruit trees, climbing plants and well kept borders, the sunsets can be spectacular. In the garden is a fully Solar powered hot tub set in a private pine cabin with patio doors onto open countryside views. Patio area with comfortable seating. Close to the Hambleton Hills rich with cycling walking routes. Wifi TV DVD library full Kitchen facilities shower with toiletries. The space Within the accommodation the original roof trusses can be seen, these are constructed from Canadian Pine, the large timber beams are slow grown and have growth rings of 250 yrs. Look for the carpenters joint marks where the timbers intersect, these would enable the assembly of the timbers in situ during construction. The Tie bars that run from the outer wall through the kitchen and bathroom areas are an echo from the historic use of the building. Grain would be stored in the building upper floor away from any damp, however as the loading of grain increased this would have applied outward pressure to the walls causing them to spread – therefore the tie bars were inserted to prevent damage to the structure. The Granary has been beautifully furnished and decorated to compliment the original features, using high quality Oak timbers for internal woodwork and artisan Blacksmith fixtures, Private parking and gardens with fruit trees and views across open land are provided for visitors comfort and enjoyment, (the sunsets can be spectacular) also visitors can use the hot tub set in a pine cabin. Guest access Private guest Parking with easy access to country lanes and local main roads . Parking is at the drivers own risk. Accomodation is on first floor , stair access via private hall and gallery landing space , see pics. Other things to note We have Prosecco and Luxury chocolates available upon booking, along with homemade lemon cake and our own hens eggs. POA  The use of the sofa bed is not available for guests The hot tub is maintained with Chemical additives incl chlorine as per industry regulation , Any persons allergic to these should not use tub facilities. bath robes are supplied .
