Avghi Country House is located on a hill between the ancient ruins of Knossos and the town of Archanes, both famous for their history. Only 7km away from the city of Heraklion, it is an ideal place for couples' & families' vacation. The nearest beach is 13km away. Wine and olive oil enthusiasts will find wineries, presses and mills around the area. It's a great starting point to explore the whole island of Crete. The space Avghi Country house is a fully restored property originally built in 1977 by Dimitri's father and named after his mother, and it used to be the family's holiday house. It's Dimitri's and Georgia's family home since 2014. The guests house is located on the ground floor of the property and it is consisted of a fully equipped kitchen with more than you expect to find, a bedroom with a queen size bed and a spacious bathroom! The open plan kitchen/dining area and living room are cosy and facing east. It is decorated in an eclectic mix of contemporary and antique furniture, in a soft and warm colour palette, to make staying indoors comfortable and relaxing. The stone floor and walls are giving a feeling of old times while keeping the house always cool in summer. The beautifully designed terracotta terrace provides a stunning view to the surrounding hills, while the lower terrace has a more secluded and private feeling, both equipped with a small table and chairs to enjoy your cup of coffee or glass of wine. The stone patio in front of the main door hosts a large wooden table suitable for family meals and stone benches to relax. All are for exclusive use for our guests! Our latest addition is a 3m x 4m plunge pool shared with the owners open from May till October.
