Description
A 300 year old Grade 2 listed Lakeland barn. Quiet location, private off street parking at the door, mountain views, central heating. Large bedroom with kingsize bed, Egyptian bed linen, sofa, tv, coffee machine and an en-suite bathroom with a rain shower, wash basin and toilet. The space This is a quirky, c.300 year old building and is part of a group of buildings on the Ambleside Heritage Trail that are the oldest in the town. This was the first site to be settled in what is now Ambleside, over 1,000 years ago. It is constructed of Lakeland stone and is Grade 2 Listed. The en suite room is situated up a spiral stone staircase on the first floor of the barn. The walls are 2 feet thick and the interior structure contains ships timbers salvaged from the Cumbrian coast. The large en-suite bedroom has excellent views of the summit of Wansfell Pike and the wooded slopes above Stock Ghyll. Guest access Accommodation is offered on a room only basis with free off street private parking at the door. Private en-suite bathroom with large, walk-in shower enclosure and a rain shower head, wash hand basin, wc, heated towel rail and back lit mirror with shaver point. Free Wi-Fi, kettle, espresso machine including sachets of tea, coffee capsules & hot chocolate. TV with integral DVD player, hair dryer and cool mat for hair straighteners. If required, there is secure bicycle storage in our internal lobby. There are numerous places to buy breakfast in town, eg. Zeffirellis, The Copper Pot, Stiles, Esquire’s, The Apple Pie, and Bellis. During your stay We are seasoned outdoor enthusiasts ourselves and love to help visitors make the most of their time in The Lakes. We can offer help, suggestions and advice on walks for all abilities and seasons, eating out, mountain biking, wildlife, wild swimming, cinema, theatre, live music, pubs, history, Beatrix Potter, William Wordsworth, boat trips, public transport and much more. Guided fell walking and other outdoor activities can be arranged, along with driving tours/suggested routes. We are usually always available in person, or by phone at all times. We try to treat our guests like new friends and aim to ensure they make the most of their limited time here! Other things to note We provide a host of useful local information for visitors including a folder containing details of the nearest doctor, dentist, hospital, out of hours chemist, etc.
