The Farmhouse at Wheelers Pancake House

Enjoy life in our Farmhouse! Originally built in 1880 and given new life with a complete renovation and addition in 2016. Located on a country road with direct access to the snowmobile trail, this house is a great getaway with all the luxuries of home! On the edge of Wheelers Pancake House property but your own entrance and away from the pancake house. The space 1 hour from Ottawa, 30 minutes from Perth and 75 minutes from Kingston. Located 8 minutes from Dalhousie Lake. Details on the house: Wrap around porch on three sides of the house. Linens, dishes, and toiletries are included. Excellent well water for drinking. There is one step up on the porch but then the rest of the main level is accessible. The stairs to the second level of the house are on the steeper side. Radiant floor heating and central air conditioning. The Farmhouse is very rural. You cannot see other buildings unless you try really hard to see the neighbours garage off the back side porch in the winter. Log homes are beautifully different than a standard brick home so they require extra love and attention which we provide. We have an automatic back up generator at the Farmhouse, so if the power goes off you will barely notice since the generator kicks on seamlessly. The Farmhouse was originally built in 1880 by settler family. In 1936 Mary and Clarence Robinson lived here until Vernon and Judy Wheeler (owners of Wheelers Pancake House) purchased it in 1972 because of the beautiful maple trees and Vernon's dream to make maple syrup. Vernon and Judy already had a home so they severed off the Farmhouse from the 200 acre maple bush and sold the house to the Ward's. Roughly 40 years pass and Vernon purchased the Farmhouse back, with hopes to share our piece of heaven with others. Guest access The house is yours when you rent it - no shared areas, including the yard. Based on the number of guests, certain bedrooms will be locked or unlocked to cut down on unnecessary cleaning. Hiking trails at Wheelers Pancake House from 9am - 3pm on the days the pancake house is open. High speed internet/wifi included Other things to note Must be 21 years or older to book. Early check in/late check out available upon request in most cases. No animals allowed- I am allergic to dogs and cats so I am unable to clean the house if there is animal dander/hair present. This is nonnegotiable.
