Banksia Cottage, entire historic cottage

This 110 year old cottage is waiting for you. Recently renovated, Banksia cottage has luxury touches to ensure your stay is comfortable and memorable for all the right reasons. Full of light and beautiful botanical touches to calm the mind and ease the body. Very secure cottage with off street parking in locked carport and extra parking in driveway. 2kms to the city or 15 minutes to Henley Beach. We are located on the flight path in Mile End so please be aware. We don't hear them any more! The space While Banksia Cottage was built in 1910, she offers all the lovely conveniences of a fresh renovation. We can accommodate up to 4 people and we accommodate dogs (no cats sorry). All rooms have their own r/c a/c to accommodate different heating and cooling requirements. The 2 bedrooms have plush new QS mattresses and stylish, quality bedding. Our guests rave about the comfortable beds. The huge open plan dining, kitchen and lounge area is tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. The kitchen has been renovated with new appliances and benchtops to show off a stylish scandi look. Have your coffee anyway you like - instant, driplolater or nespresso. Did we say we like coffee? If there’s a pot or tool you can’t find while cooking up a storm, just let us know, we’re likely to have one you can use. Relax on the leather lounge while watching your friends and family cook. Snuggle up for a read or stream your favourite shows on the Smart TV. Set the reverse cycle air conditioner to a comfortable temperature and relax. The bathroom has been fully renovated and features a full size bath with caddy to hold your wine and iPad or book. The extra wide shower offers an overhead rain dumping shower rose and a hand held shower head. A combined AEG washer/dryer has been installed to ensure you can get any laundry done while you stay with us. It has a great intuitive display. There is also an undercover clothes line in the carport and fold out clothes dryer. You'll find the usual hair dryer and straightener for your use in the bathroom. We provide Sukin shampoo, conditioner and body wash in pump packs. Those individual tubes are not the best for our environment. The gorgeous outside area is where you'll love to entertain your friends while you stay in Banksia Cottage. Outdoor table for 6 at the large teak table, a monster BBQ to cook up feasts and an outdoor lounge for those too tired to sit at the table (or a lovely reading spot). The cottage has a lock up carport with a roller door so your precious wheels are off the street. There is also additional parking in the driveway and out the front in the street. You'll feel very safe here as the front window is protected by a stylish iron window grille. Yes, we’re very dog friendly, however all dog stays & visits have to be negotiated. If you have not discussed dog stays or visits prior to your stay, we may ask you to leave. There is a large paved patio area (see photos) and cement carport. There is lawn out the front of the cottage and there is the possibility of closing the gates out front so your doggo can roll on the grass. Just talk to us, we’ll figure something out. We accept dogs only. For stays longer than a week, we might ask you to water the lovely plants inside and outside of the house and put the bins out as they are locked up in the carport. Passenger flights have an 11pm to 6am curfew. Guest access You will have access to the whole cottage. The patio off the French doors offers a peaceful and private space to enjoy the outdoors. The front yard is shared but we don't use the yard. You can close both sets of gates to sit in the sun , check out the neighbourhood and let the doggos roam Other things to note No people with spray tans, it ruins all our linen and towels. Smoking is allowed outside only, ashtrays located outside for you. All dog stays & other dogs visiting need to be negotiated with the host. Dogs only. No parties or events are allowed on the property. No guest is permitted to run their business from Banksia Cottage.
