The Barn, Chevalier

The barn is in the peaceful hamlet of Chevalier next to a working farm. Beautifully converted by the owners in 2013 to a high standard - bright, modern, open plan design with original features of the 1830s barn. The space The Barn There are generous lawns, unfenced to preserve views of the countryside, and off-street parking for 3 cars. There is a paved area with BBQ for outdoor dining and a shared swimming pool with alarm, sun terraces and garden furniture. You may catch sight of deer grazing in the evening or birds of prey hunting. The barn is fully equipped for 6 adults and 2 children for comfortable modern living: TV with English and French channels, DVD player, high speed Fibre Wifi suitable for home working, washing machine, dish-washer and microwave. It is well insulated, double-glazed, with wood burning stove and under-floor heating. Open Plan Living Light pours in to the open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area. Relax and enjoy views of rolling countryside from the lounge or dining under the candle chandelier. You will find all you need in the fully equipped modern kitchen, including a ceramic hob, fan oven, electric kettle, toaster, fridge and microwave. There is ample crockery, cutlery, and cooking utensils. You will enjoy preparing fresh local produce on the hand-made oak work-tops. Bedrooms and Bathrooms There are 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, each with large shower, toilet, basin and bidet. The ground floor bedroom has level access, a double bed and en suite (small step into shower). A hand-made oak staircase takes you up to the first floor, with open mezzanine area overlooking the ground floor. There is a large en suite main bedroom with king-size bed - lie in bed at night and star-gaze through the velux window above. The second bedroom has twin beds and is adjacent to a family bathroom. The third bedroom is smaller, with 2 single beds, and is more suitable for young people or children. The Pool The site and pool are shared with a gîte on the other side of the pool (about 40m away). Each gîte has its own garden and bbq area. Relations who live in the barn next door (retired couple) also share the pool, and are on hand for advice and support. Smoking / Pets For everyone's comfort, there is no smoking in the barn. It is not suitable for pets due to the farm opposite and the open site. Other things to note The property sleeps up to 6 adults and 2 young people or children It is equipped for toddlers and babies, with a travel cot and a Chicco Next To Me cot, both with bedding, a baby bath, high chair and changing mat.
