Farm Stay Camping

Bring your own tent and pitch up staying on our Off Grid site at Acklam Farm Stays. Located on the Yorkshire Wolds, you can stay on our working farm, waking up to the sights of sheep & cattle with a spectacular view that reaches as far as seventy miles! You'll be no more than 15 miles from York and 7 miles from Malton. Local pubs no more than a mile away, so you can get yourself a Yorkshire Ale followed by a good hearty meal. The space Our site also has glampers on so you’ll have the use of the facilities. In the wood, there’s a sink for all your washing up needs so you’ll always be prepared for every meal. There is a tap for your water supply and there is a compost loo which is shared by other glampers – (odour free btw!). There is an off grid shower in the woods, which is also used by other glampers. The shower water is heated to the same level as a normal domestic shower, meaning you can comfortably wash in the shower. As it is a well ventilated shower shack (still covered and adhering to modesty!!), we recommend making sure you have your clothes ready to change in to once you turn the water off. In the paddock where you pitch your tent, there’s a fire pit for those late night marshmallows. Logs are available to buy at £9 a bag. Bring all your own camping equipment and get cooking! If you would like a bacon sandwich for your breakfast we offer this with a yogurt & piece of fruit for £12 & we deliver it to your tent – please book in advance if you would like this. Please note - car parking is not immediately next to the pitch, so you will need to unload your luggage and walk the 35 metres to the pitch. But we can guarantee at this camping pitch, you've got space! You won't be jammed in next to other campers. We sell all our own Lamb , all our lamb is free range and grass fed outdoors on a healthy landscape. We value dealing directly with you so we are able to offer you good quality locally sourced produce, comfortable in the knowledge of exactly where your meat has come from. Our pasture reared Lamb is ready for your summer BBQ or hearty Autumn fill up! All our lamb is kept frozen so that it’s ready for when you want it. -Ask in advance for the lamb. Lamb Burgers x 4 in a pack £7.50 Lamb Chops x 4 or 5 in pack £10-12 Book a Farm Tour: Our Farm Tour will venture in to our fields, some of the terrain is uneven, hilly and can be slippy when it’s muddy. You’ll discover what life is like on a working farm. We’ll talk about the chalk Wolds and the grass pastures and how we farm it over the four seasons, from fertilizing the pasture to haymaking. You’ll get a tour of our sheep and learning about how the lambing season works and how we raise the lambs and the difficulties we face in doing so. Tours last 1 hour and cost £13 per adult and £9 per child. Children under 2 years are not charged.
