Description

The property is a beautiful 1930's detached house sitting in a large secluded garden with parking for up to 4 cars. 5 minutes walk to both beach and town. Everything you need is on your doorstep, you can park here or arrive by train and not need any transport for your entire holiday. If you have a car there are lots of beautiful places within a short drive in all directions; Helford Passage, The Lizard, Porthleven, surfing beaches.... The space Beautiful 1930's house in a huge garden, located between sea and town (five minutes walk). Great for a group or large family. Sleeps up to 10 including children/infants. 3 bathrooms and an additional toilet. Hand built well equipped kitchen, 3 patios, outside chalet in garden. Also a bespoke cedar built garden hut with wood burner and seating and lighting. Parking for 4 cars. We leave a welcome pack for our guests, such as milk, wine, beer conserves, tea and coffee etc. We will also ensure there are store cupboard essentials like herbs, spices, oils, vinegar, sauces etc. If you are having the house for a special occasion and need anything organised prior to arrival just let us know and we will try and accommodate. We will leave a basket of wood. There are five bedrooms, four on the first floor, one en-suite and one on the ground floor by the front door. This room has it's own bathroom and is more private than the other rooms as it is by the front door and leads into the hallway. Bedroom four has a Super King size bed, three are doubles and bedroom 5 has two "trundle" beds, sleeping up to 4. However, if sleeping 4 there is no floor space! One of the trundles can be moved to bedroom 4 if required for a child to sleep in parents room. There is a large dual aspect lounge which has 2 sofas and an Ercol day bed. Overlooking the garden is a desk for those of you who need to work on your holidays. There is a record player and records, CD's, TV with Netflix and the usual services. We have plenty of family games, Monopoly, Scrabble, Balderdash etc etc and a full Poker set. The dining table seats up to twelve and connects to the kitchen with breakfast bar, bar stools, chairs, 6 hob burner, two ovens (one also a microwave) and a dishwasher. The kitchen is fully equipped for plenty of guests, including a Nutri Ninja, toaster and plenty of great cookery books. There is a large fridge freezer and a full size Bosch dishwasher. Crockery and cutlery for twelve. To the side of the house is a separate utility room complete with a washer and dryer, windbreaks, wet suits, hats, gloves etc to borrow and plenty of beach towels. Also some outdoor games, bats, balls, buckets and spades. There is an additional fridge in the utility room. The garden is very large (200ft long) with a patio with chairs and table by the house and two patios further down the garden which get the evening sun. There is further seating and hammock in the garden. We are happy for children to stay but the garden does have steep drops in parts, the stone can be slippery when wet, we just want you to know that care needs to be taken and young children will need supervision . It may also be a challenge for those with mobility issues. The sides of the garden do not have lockable gates on them. It is a lovely garden with sub tropical plants, vegetable beds, fruit bushes and trees. Hopefully you can partake of the fruit and veg if the time is right! The garden also has a rustic chalet for your use with seating, heater etc for a summer evening drink. The hammock is in here and additional cushions/blankets are stored in a box outside the chalet. Neither house nor garden have child safety features so you will need to supervise children at all times. It is also not suitable for people with mobility issues as the house is old with steps and the garden uneven. There is a large storage shed in the garden which will be locked. We have a small annex in the garden which is sometimes used by ourselves when we have people staying in the house. This means we are on hand to help if need be but keep a low profile! We access the annex by the side of the house which is not used by guests. Guest access Guests can access the whole house. The garage is locked and there is a large shed at the bottom of the garden that is also not accessible to guests. We may be staying in the annex in the garden so are on hand if you need anything but leave you to the whole house and garden. Other things to note Please do not use the wood burner in the outside shed. It has been deemed unsafe. Apologies, we need to replace it. Like any old house ours has it's unique features and quirks! We will tell you everything you need to know for your stay prior to your arrival.
