5* Apple Tree Cabin is in a beautiful location 12 min flat walk into the wonderful market town of Monmouth. Welcome to The Secret Walled Garden dating back to Tudor times. The Cabin is suitable for 2 people, open living/bedroom area/kitchen and private en-suite bathroom. Private decking, Wood fired hot tub, outdoor seating and fire pit. Enjoy your welcome hamper with welsh cakes, eggs and milk, unwind with views of the lovely countryside. Private swimming pool to hire 8 mins drive away. The space Drive through a track that runs beside an open field in the countryside to our entrance. We have a large parking area where you leave your vehicle, follow the stone path down to Apple Tree Cabin. The cabin is 13sqm in size (not including the ensuite) which is much larger than an average camping pod. Guests that have stayed are surprised at how big the space is, please read reviews. The cabin has everything you need to make your stay comfortable, including coffee maker, hot water bottles, hot water, electric shower and flushing mains toilet. The Cabin has amazing views of the surrounding countryside, sit outside for breakfast on your own private decking or evenings toasting marshmallows star gazing around your private fire pit. On arrival you will have fresh eggs from the farm next door, welsh cakes & milk. There is a kettle, toaster, Nespresso machine, 2 ring hob burner and a small fridge within the cabin. A small tv that plays only DVDs with a selection of films. There are board games & outdoor games to use and have fun. There is plenty of space to relax and unwind. We regularly see different types of wildlife including Otters, Fox, Squirrel, Badgers, Herons, Woodpeckers & Pheasants. There is plenty of space to unwind, we have another cabin on site called Stargazer Cabin. However each cabin has its own privacy and space away from each other. We are not like other glamping sites. There are only 3 cabins, spaced far apart. There is a local private swimming pool to hire directly with Orchard House, 8 mins drive away. Subject to availability. It is very peaceful in the walled garden and therefore we would not accept high levels of noise. We have our own private house and area away from the cabin out of view. Follow us on socials @thesecretwalledgarden Guest access Guests have access to the cabin down the stone path. There is a large area to the front of the cabin where the fire pit is located & picnic bench seating area. There is also a grass area to play boules or games. However there is no where to cycle in the meadow, we recommend cycle routes nearby. You can cycle just outside our entrance. We have a shop at the entrance to our walled garden where we stock everything created in our perfumery - Wales Perfumery. This includes fragrances, candles, diffusers, skincare, olive wood & porcelain. Other things to note We provide logs for the hot tub and fire pit for each evening providing 2-3 hour burn. You are welcome to purchase extra logs with kindling & fire lighters for £6. We do not permit guests to use their own logs. Experiences ..... We offer a selection of experiences - * on-site and away from the cabin Louise runs Walesperfumery, running Perfumery/Fragrance making workshops, suitable for Couples, families. Highly recommend. *You can hire bikes from Peddalabikeaway in the Forest of Dean. *There is a local pub that specialises in Cider called The Boat Inn at Redbrook which is a 30 min walk through the countryside & along the beautiful River Wye. *There is a local Deli/restaurant that serves delicious homemade food within a 1 min drive or 6 min walk. *The walk into Monmouth town is flat & takes 12 mins, driving takes less than 4 mins. Monmouth has a wealth of coffee shops, restaurants and pubs. *The high street is full of wonderful independent shops. Friday and Saturday is market day in Monmouth with many stalls at the bottom of town by the river Monnow and also outside the Shire Hall at the top of town. You can find lots of fresh local produce. *Church street is a wonderful cobbled street containing an independent Green Grocers, an amazing locally sourced Butcher, independent clothes shops,book and craft shops, also The Savoy theatre is the oldest working theatre in Wales. *The museum in Monmouth is free entry & great for a rainy weather day. *The Kymin belongs to the National Trust and has the most wonderful views over Monmouth & towards the Brecon Beacons National Park. You can walk to the Kymin which would take an hour or drive to The Kymin which takes approx 10 mins.
