Manal and Abid grew up in Wadi Musa / Petra. They invite you into their home and culture. Offering traditional Bedouin accommodations with breakfast, Bedouin cooking classes, and lots of pots of traditional Bedouin sweet tea. Abid and his nephews also work as local guides. Prices listed are per person and include a delicious Bedouin breakfast. Dinner and cooking classes are also available. Contact Manal for details. Petra is one of the most amazing places in the world but to truly understand the heart of Petra, you need to meet it’s people. Manal and her husband Abid, and little Sultan (Born July 11, 2019), invite you to come experience true Bedouin hospitality. Newly married, Manal and Abid have built their new home with guests in mind. With a beautiful view of the Wadi Musa valley, the Heart of Petra Bed & Breakfast is conveniently located minutes from main entrance to the Siq. This is a truly hosted experience where you can expect to be warmly welcomed as a valued guest, not just accommodated. Manal and Abid are in a unique position to help you experience Petra. They speak Arabic, English, French, Spanish, and Italian. The co-hosts will help with written communication in English or by translation and, once you book, you will be able to contact Manal by telephone to arrange check-in times and coordinate hospitality and details for your visit. It is essential that you provide your arrival time in advance so Manal and Abid can be nearby to greet you and let you in. Manal is from the Bduol tribe of Bedouin. Her family can trace their roots back to their Nabatean ancestors. Born in a cave in Petra, She learned English from visiting archaeologists. Her family still lives and works in Petra. You can find their shop and a nice shady seating area halfway up the Monastery Trail. Abid was born in Wadi Musa and is from the Al Helalat tribe that has lived in Wadi Musa for 800 years. Abid first met Manal when they were teenagers. He recently returned from his work for the Sultan of Brunai, just in time to fall in love. Their house is a work in progress and depending on how they have decided to arrange the furniture, the rooms may not always match the photos, however the rooms are comfortable, they have plenty of beds with lots of warm blankets to keep you comfortable at night. As they meet their guests and learn about their needs, they try to meet those needs and assure their current and future guests are safe and comfortable. The building exterior, like most of the buildings in the area, looks a bit rough and unfinished as just about everything is made of concrete. Don't panic.. it's very nice inside. Accommodations include a traditional Bedouin breakfast. Guests will have access to kitchen and laundry facilities. Complimentary Wifi in all rooms. Additional Services available * Pick up / Drop off for UNESCO site and town, including dropoff and guide service at trailheads not commonly known to tourists. * Guided tours of Petra * Tours of Little Petra / Bedouin Village / Wadi Musa * Hiking & 4 Wheel Drive Tours * Private Bedouin dining experience at home or BBQ in Little Petra / Cave. * Traditional Bedouin Cooking Classes * Private transportation to / from Aman / Aquaba / Wadi Musa I will be available to help you maximize your experience. Just ask, and we will do our best to help you with or arrange whatever you need. Manal speaks Arabic, English, French, Italian, & Spanish Abid speaks Arabic, Italian, Malay, & English Our foreign language speaking skills are strong however we are receiving assistance with Airbnb's written communications, as these are sometimes challenging for us. Our written communications are done by our co-hosts Randi & Joel Peshkin in California. They will do their best to answer all your questions (we speak on the phone almost daily) If you have a question Randi & Joel can't answer, please call us me in Wadi Musa / Petra. Manal +962 7 7549 7835 We have a new home overlooking the Wadi Musa valley approximately 1 mile from the Petra / UNESCO site main entrance. The "New Vegetable Market" just opened across the street with fresh vegetables, fruit, and meat. The downtown shopping and dining loop is a short walk from the house. We have good directions if you are arriving by car. There is free parking directly in front of the house. Arriving by bus: Manal and Abdul are 3 minutes from the Wadi Musa minibus station and will be happy to pick you up. Tourists busses may stop at the UNESCO Petra entrance instead. Don't worry - we can pick you up there too. Private drivers can be arranged for you from the Amman airport and the Red Sea / Border. Wadi Musa has no street numbers, so it is vital that you establish communication prior to your arrival so we can either give you extremely detailed instructions or arrange to meet you at the nearby bus station to guide you to the property. Please be advised the Petra and Little Petra sites will close if rain is forecast within 50 miles if the valley. Flash floods occur frequently in the Siq and on the valley floor. Activities within the Petra UNESCO site require paid daily admission. If you are going to be spending time touring Jordan, be sure to check out the Jordan Pass and see if it works for you.
