Cabin in Blackhawk
Description
A hidden gem in the heart of the Black Hills, our cabin is nestled on 3 private acres lovingly named Squirrel Hill. With decks in every direction, you're encouraged to take in the abundance of nature. Watch for deer, turkey, birds and squirrels. Relax under the pines in the hot tub or on the deck featuring a gas firepit and 10-person table. Inside, you'll find everything you need for a well-appointed getaway. Worlds away from the hustle & bustle of real life; just 10 minutes west of Rapid City. The space The backyard features a propane fire pit, hot tub, playset, and Weber natural gas grill. Because we are in the pines, open flames are not allowed (including fireworks). The main floor of the house features a living room with TV and gas fireplace, dining room, kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, and 2 bedrooms (queen). Upstairs, you'll find a cozy loft with a small TV, master bedroom (king) with a small walk out deck and master bathroom. The "bunkhouse" (bedroom #4) is located over the gameroom. It has a TV, 2 queen beds, electric fireplace, reading nook, and a small bathroom with shower, toilet, and sink. It is a separate building, but the two buildings are connected by the deck. This bedroom is not suitable for young children to sleep in without adult supervision. The gameroom: the garage space has been converted into a hip gameroom (there is no garage space for vehicles). The heated & cooled space features a foosball table, commercial dart board, air hockey, pool table, 2 booths with tables and board games, and a 55" TV with sound bar and subwoofer. The floors are epoxy and the walls are finished with corrugated metal, street signs, license plates, and other family fun decor. Coming soon: vintage video game nook! There is a collection of board games in the loft and a cabinet full of outdoor games in the backyard to keep everyone entertained. Responsible adults are encouraged to respectfully enjoy our little neck of the woods. No smoking inside; no parties or loud noise. Guest access Guests have 3 private acres to explore on their own. Please do not cross the fence to the left or where it comes to a point in the backyard - it is several hundred acres owned by a private tree farm and they don't take kindly to trespassers. The fence can be crossed on the right side (gazebo side) and you are free to explore all the way to the gully, which is the property line. Down the driveway to the dumpster is our property as well, so feel free to take a walk - there's lots to see on Romel and High Meadows if you take a left. Other things to note Please note before booking: ❗️ Minimum age is 25. Anyone under 25 must have a parent present - absolutely no exceptions. This is a vacation home for families. Immediate eviction will occur for underage renters without refund. ‼️ Maximum capacity at the property is 10 people (not including infants under 2) - no exceptions. The space, well, and septic will not handle more people. Immediate eviction without refund will occur if more than 10 people are on the property at any one time, and a fine of $100 per night for each person over the max capacity will be charged. ❌️ Please do not make a reservation if you are not willing or able to follow the rules. 🐕 DOGS: we generally allow up to 2 well-behaved dogs to come along for a minimal fee. They are absolutely not allowed on furniture, especially beds. ❄️ Fall, winter, and spring guests: we maintain the driveway as much as possible including grading, plowing, and salting/sanding when there is snow or ice. However - this is South Dakota and the gravel driveway is at a very steep incline... you WILL need a 4x4 or AWD with good (3 Peak Mountain Snowflake recommended) tires if there is snow. We do our very best to make it as safe as possible for you, but it can still be difficult to traverse. 🏍 Bikers: there is about one mile of gravel to get to the cabin. The gravel driveway between the host's house and the cabin is STEEP. It's doable for a well-seasoned rider used to gravel, but is not fitting for most. You can use parking areas at our home, just down the driveway. There's room for motorcycle trailer parking at our home - just let us know ahead of time. No RVs, campers, trailers, etc. allowed at the cabin - parking is tight and there is little turnaround space.
