The space A compact cosy 2 bedroom cottage with everything you need for a get away and base for exploring Ludlow and Shropshire. Seifton View Cottage dates back to 1800's with Oak beam features and internal stone walls (spot the built in Fossils). Renovated during 2020, we exposed many original features but made the space light and airy with a modern touch. With private entrance and off road parking you can enjoy the freedom to come and go as you please. The lounge is cosy and snug with an original inglenook and log burner, a complimemtary basket of logs is provided for your arrival during winter months (November-end March). The kitchenette is split in to two compact areas but has everything you need to make breakfast with our complimentary duck and chicken eggs (where available), tea, coffee, toaster, kettle, microwave, 2 drawer Airfyryer and plug in electric 2 ring hob. There is a fridge with freezer box for ice for your all important chill down holiday drinks! Please note it is a kitchenette so there is no oven. Downstairs you will also find a walk in shower, toilet and sink, towels are provided. The two upstairs bedrooms are bright airey and spacious. The double front bedroom has a comfortable double bed, bedside tables, wardrobe and a chest of drawers. There is a trap door in the corner which would have been the original ladder access to the first floor when it originally would have resembled more of a barn. The rear twin bedroom has two single beds with amazing views across the Shropshire hills. Bedding and linen is provided in both bedrooms. Outside, there is a stock fence (post and rail) garden area to the rear with seating and BBQ, overlooking our fields and the Shropshire Hills beyond. During Spring you maybe lucky to have lambs practically in your back garden if your trip coincides with their arrival. You can step out of your garden straight onto a Public footpath and Bridleway and can walk to your hearts content across the farm fields and the Shropshire countryside. We welcome two dogs but ask you to abide by the rules set out below to keep our own animals in the fields safe. Ludlow race course is on the same road as Seifton View Cottage, approx 3 mile up the road and we are a great base for a day at the races. Shropshire is a walkers and cyclists paradise, with Clee Hill and the Long Mynd Hills, Stiperstones and Wenlock Edge plus endless other routes all nearby and a local Motte and Bailey located in Culmington itself. Flounders Folly can be seen from the driveway and is a lovely walk up on a clear day. From Culmington guests can easily enjoy Medieval Ludlow (5 Miles) with its 13th Century castle, wonderful architecture, specialised shops and renowned pubs and restaurants and its open market in Castle Square. The small village of Culmington lies in the stunning Corvedale Valley with footpaths and country pubs galore. The historic market town of Ludlow is situated on the River Teme and has a reputation of being a real hidden gem amongst the outstanding countryside of the Welsh Marches. With nearly 500 listed buildings, Ludlow's medieval street pattern remains almost intact providing a fascinating backdrop for the town's regular street markets held in the shadow of the castle. Ludlow is renowned for its shopping and food with copious antique, art and craft shops, restaurants, pubs cafes and tea rooms. The castle is over 900 years old, and contains fascinating examples of architecture while below it. There is also Ludlow Racecourse and fishing is available at Delbury Hall. Within easy reach of Church Stretton, Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury and Hereford, as well as popular attractions such as Ironbridge Gorge, Severn Valley Railway, Berrington Hall, Stokesay Castle, Wroxeter Roman City and beautiful Cardingmill Valley, Ludlow is a superb destination for a relaxing break. Guest access The cottage is located off the main road from Culminton between Ludlow and Craven Arms. There is a wooden 5 bar gate which leads you on to the driveway and you can park literally within a couple of meters of the front door. The cottage is accessed via a key lockbox, you will recieve the code the day before you travel with all the directions etc. There is enough parking for 2 cars, please message me if more vehicles are coming as we have another parking area if necessary. There is a small metal gate to the side of the cottage which leads to the enclosed garden area, there is also a gate at the end of the garden that leads directly into our fields and on to the public footpath. Other things to note We welcome two dogs with our guests but ask you to abide by the rules of no pets on beds and sofas. You are welcome to walk and exercise dogs in our fields but we ask that dogs remain on leads if they are not sheep/chicken/duck/pony friendly as these are our pets. The chickens, some of them ex battery are now enjoying life and roam free during most of the day across our two fields so we ask you to be aware you may stumble across them and our ducks whilst out and about. We have dogs of our own but they are fenced seperately to the cottage so won't be in your garden space as much as they would love to come and play. We also have a cats, whom think they are dogs and will often join our dogs on their walks, they are very friendly and thinks all dogs are friends, they will learn quickly if they are not but please be aware they are about.
