Sitting in 13 acres of meadow, and bordering the hills of Battenkill State Forest, this cottage is the perfect place for a relaxing break or an outdoor adventure. You can hike the trail by the house, explore the beautiful farmland and the surrounding villages, or relax on the deck and watch the birds. We are a short walk from the Battenkill River, where you can fish, kayak, tube or relax. We are pet friendly with a large lawn for games and a fire pit for evening stories. The house comprises a bright, open-plan living, dining and kitchen area, with a small hallway leading to three bedrooms and a bathroom. Our kitchen is fully stocked and clean, with an eating area next to the sliding door. We have a cozy sitting area with a propane gas fireplace for heat and ambiance. Bedroom 1 has a queen sized bed, bureau, small desk and closet. Bedroom 2 has a single bed and bureau and a workspace by the window. Bedroom 3 has a bunk bed. There is a washer and dryer in the basement. There is a large deck on three sides of the house with views of the meadow and hills behind. We have an electric grill on the deck by the slider. I am available by text and phone. The cottage shares a driveway with Battenkill Valley Outdoors, which specializes in tube, kayak and bike rentals. The house is located between Cambridge NY, and Arlington VT. There are many antique and specialty shops in these villages and throughout the area, as well as restaurants, an excellent diner, a supermarket and Farmers Markets. Cambridge also boasts the Hubbard Hall Center for the Arts and Education, which has a variety of classes and performances, and the Argyle Brewpub, which hosts live music. Manchester VT, a mecca for shopping with designer outlets and locally owned shops, lies a 30-minute drive through beautiful countryside. It is 30 miles to the excitement of Saratoga Springs. The racing season runs through July and August. There is no public transportation around, so a car is essential for long trips. It is a lovely area for biking too.
