Description
You'll have the whole barn, yard, and adjacent woodland to yourselves, set away in the silence of the valley. Best suited to those in search of bird song and starry nights. The space is designed for ten to live comfortably in, and snugly divided by home-grown timber in an overdone steel-bound log wall. In the other half, you have a pool table, and canvas bell tent w/ double bed. Larger groups may wish to pitch their own tents or park up vans. The space We recently spent six months building a log wall from farm-grown timber and hand-bent steel bands, which divides the barn into two airy cabin style spaces. One half features The Rose & Crown games room with a recently recovered pub pool table, dartboard, and a 5m bell tent with double bed (also suitable for additional sleeping bags and mats, or several air mattresses). The other half is an open-plan living and kitchen area, featuring sofas and an undercover fire pit. The kitchen has hot and cold mains water, a gas hob, and a solar fridge/freezer. Fully fitted soft lighting for the evenings, including a pool table light and some stained glass. There's no mains electric or plug sockets, but several USB charging ports powered by a solar battery setup, alongside a USB router for WiFi. There's a hot lean-to shower, which has the novelty of being outside to catch the evening sun, backing onto wild woodland. The space includes a section of untouched river upstream through the woods, which is solely yours to explore and would be great for some properly peaceful yoga. Set away from the barn is a simple compost toilet outhouse. Guest access You've got the whole barn and yard to yourself, and are also free to explore our adjacent block of riverside woodland upstream (deer fenced on three sides to somewhat contain your pups). We don't own the other side of the road, so do please be mindful of noise for our neighbours and heed the 'private' signs - the land opposite is their garden. Other things to note It's worth noting that this is an open-sided barn, and while it'll keep you dry it's still an outdoor experience and as such you will need to dress according to the weather in order to be comfortable. If that's your jam - great! Bedding for the double bed in the van and the double in the bell tent is provided, but those in hammocks or the bell tent floor/sofas will need to bring their own bits. Tents/campervans are recommended to sleep larger groups. No generators/large speakers, but small portable speakers are okay, with a reasonable noise curfew of 10pm as sound does travel in an otherwise-silent valley. No wood is to be harvested from our land or the neighbours' across the road. I sell zero-mile offcuts from my sawmill at £5 a basket, via a cash honesty box system, or you're welcome to bring your own. The extra guest fee is £20pppn after four, and if you plumb your guest numbers into a booking request it will give you the full total.
