Secluded A-Frame Cabin just Minutes from Town

Get away from it all in our secluded A-frame cabin, sitting on a private mountain street just 6-8 minutes from the dining and boutiques in the center of Idyllwild. This is a 2 BR/1 Bath cabin with a finished basement and a high west-facing deck for incredible sunsets. Relax and unwind with 2 queen beds, a leather couch with reclining seats, and a wood stove for nights by the fire. A dining table with 5 chairs provides an easy meal in, and the grill outside provides another great way to cook. The space ***WINTER WARNING*** Our place is on a private street that does *not* get plowed during snow storms. There are times we need to park at the end of the street and walk the 1/3 of a mile to the cabin, which includes looking for parking. We do get snow up in Idyllwild, and while it's usually not a huge accumulation, there are a few big storms every year. This is our third winter, and it turns out the road is mostly inaccessible with any more than an inch or two. That means we can't guarantee during the winter that you won't need to walk the 1/3 of a mile and look for parking on the main street. If you're willing to take the risk, or ready to let yourself be snowed in, it sure is beautiful when it snows! But we're 6500 feet up, and it can pile up (actually about a thousand miles higher than town center, despite our close location). Please don't book unless you have a car that can handle the private road in the winter, have chains, and you're willing to plan for a snow storm. We always, always offer free cancellations if snow comes into the forecast! Thank you! *************** We are located on a private road in Idyllwild, which is fairly standard up here. It is winding, and at night can be tough, but just follow the curves of the road and you'll eventually see a sign for our number on the right. Some people have some difficulty the first time around, but we can always help out! Enter with your custom lock code through the finished basement before walking up the stairs opening up to our beautiful two-story A-frame, complete with wood burning stove, five burner grill on the west-facing deck, full kitchen setup with all utensils and cookware, loft bedroom, and separate bedroom on the main floor. Just make sure you know that the loft bedroom is open air, so you will hear any loud noises coming from the living room. We have a futon and pull-out sofa in the basement for additional sleeping options for groups of four. Parking can be a little tricky, so make sure to pull all the way up if you have more than one car, and take your time backing out. We suggest pulling to the right and making a K-turn in the space provided. We recommend one car but have had up to three without too much issue. The private street is INCREDIBLY quiet, but it can take a little time to turn your car around, so don't worry. The house is fully stocked with wifi, a smart TV with an amazon firestick which should provide ample streaming options, all the cooking gear you might need, and a smart thermostat for those cold winter nights when the wood stove isn't quite enough. There are bundles of firewood for sale in the town at the grocery and hardware stores. There is absolutely NO smoking of any kind, as we have a toddler with asthma. We have an absolute zero tolerance policy on that. Other than smoking and parties, please make yourself at home! Have a relaxing weekend away, stare at the stars from the deck, try one of the amazing restaurants in Idyllwild, or simply unplug. Guest access The whole darn place! Other things to note Unfortunately, Idyllwild, as a town, does not allow any campfires of any kind. If it is discovered that you had a campfire, we will pass on your information to the authorities.
