The Stables - Farm at Freeburgh on Ovens River

With direct, private access to the Great Valley Trail and the Ovens River, The Stables provides luxurious bespoke accommodation and complimentary mountain bikes for your stay. Located on 10 acres, The Stables is an outbuilding to the family home, along with our farm stay, The Barn. Within 10 minutes to the tourist town of Bright, and in close proximity to Falls Creek and Mt Hotham, only a short 45 minute drive away for hiking & skiing. Horse stays are also an option, with trail riding close by! The space The Stables is flooded with light and a stunning open plan build, featuring exposed copper pipe and polished concrete floors. North facing windows frame the mountain views and ensure privacy from the main house. If you would like to enjoy the property with friends, The Barn is also available through Airbnb on the property. If you prefer to fly solo, you are situated at the front of the 10 acres and can be left undisturbed all stay long! Guest access When staying at The Stables you will have access to The Ovens River. Enjoy walking through the Chestnut orchard with views of Feathertop. There are also hikes along the river for the more adventurous. The Great Valley Trail is now open, 16 km of bitumen track connecting Bright | Freeburgh | Smoko and Harrietville, with the option to hire mountain bikes here at the property. With picturesque river picnic spots, or enjoy a pub lunch, the destinations are endless. Other things to note The Stables is an outbuilding and therefore within view of our main home. We have designed the building for the utmost privacy, with high trees facing the main house.
