Lidyates Cottage - Near Lyme Regis

Lidyates Cottage sits in a small hamlet in a beautiful hidden valley close to the Jurassic Coast. This charming one bedroom cottage sleeps two and has everything needed for a comfortable stay including a pretty fully enclosed private garden. It is also dog friendly! Please note we allow bookings for a maximim of two adults (unfortunately no children or infants due to the size and narrow staircase). The space Lyme Regis is less than 10 minutes away with lots of restaurants, shops and events happening all year round. There are plenty of walking routes, activities and beaches in the area. We are a very short drive from River Cottage. Lidyates Cottage dates from 1720 and has everything you'll need for a comfortable break. Downstairs there is a cosy sitting room, dining area with adjoining kitchen, and a small loo/shower room. The kitchen includes a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, radio and baking things. We want you to be able to relax right away, so on your arrival there are always locally made biscuits, tea, coffee and milk. From the sitting room the original narrow staircase takes you to the bedroom which has a comfortable king sized bed, and another radio at the bedside. Towels are provided. Please note the narrow staircase may not be suitable for all. There is a collection of books (including lots about local history), walking maps, Wi-Fi, Smart TV, Blu-ray player, DVDs, and board games. You'll also find some interesting artwork on the walls including a collection of vintage advertising signs. The cottage has double doors to an outdoor seating area for four with a Weber BBQ. Our guests love the enclosed private garden. The cottage was renovated in 2016 and completely re-painted in 2022. There is a gravel parking space outside the house which suits a small car. If you have a big car then you are welcome to leave it in our drive which is next door. Should you need anything we live next door with our children and our border terrier. Our garden is next to yours but both are private and enclosed. Guest access Access is by key-safe or we are very happy to meet you if you prefer. One parking space outside the cottage – for bigger cars or more than one, you can use the drive of our house next door. Other things to note Central heating, stove-effect electric fire in the sitting room, plus two portable electric radiators just in case. Iron and ironing board, plus additional sofa bed and linen stored under the main bed. Parking directly outside and additional/alternative parking on the drive of the house next door. The cottage is located in a valley and mobile reception is therefore limited.
