Other things to note PALAZZO 1812 This magnificent Baroque rural premise – Palazzo 1812 – was constructed in the first decade of the 19th century, in the small Istrian hamlet Krnica. The building has a form of a Baroque palace and has kept the original external outline from the time it was built. Palazzo underwent its metamorphosis into a visually rich area, genuinely eclectic, evoking comfort and a home atmosphere we believe will enthuse you. The premise was refurbished in 2018, in order to obtain the 21st century comfort, as well as preserve, in every pore, part of the history that has been made since 1812, when our ancestors built it with all their love. The spirit of the past has been kept since some of the objects containing our energy are there and represent a small trace of our existence, work, love and persistence of generations of our ancestors left to us for the future, where a century-old inheritance permeate a home-like atmosphere. This rural premise can be approached through a monumental gate, made of profiled stone and wrought iron, above which the name of the founder is carved. In the house, modelled after Baroque palaces – two storey buildings, there is the living part consisting of a modern kitchen, a beautiful living-room in the rustic style, dominated by a big fire-place dating back to the time the house was built. A large wrought iron and oak-wood stair-case is leading to the upper floors of this two-storey building. There are two modern sleeping-rooms, each with its own bath-room and air-conditioners. There is a big master sleeping-room on the second floor, with its own bath-room and big living-room where you can relax, listen to music, paint, watch TV programs and play on play-station 4 pro. In the loft there is a marvelous, air-conditioned sleeping-room with a 3.5 m high ceiling, made of wood beams, with a big bath-room connected to an area for meditation and relaxation. There is a terrace, covered with vine and wisteria and there is also another terrace with barbecue and a large space for sitting and eating, where you can smell lemon, lavender and jasmine. Something else available in this premise is a small peaceful oasis, delimited by autochthonous Istrian stone wall where you, in complete intimacy, can contemplate the blue Istrian sky, shimmering stars while sipping Istrian wines. The large autochthonous area at the disposal of the clients contains recreation elements, as for example a table-tennis table, card playing area, the display of utensils and objects used by the owners in every-day life during the past. We supply all these because we do wish that our clients and friends, after staying in our holiday-home, could go back to their own homes richer and changed by their experience, authentic experience in an authentic milieu. Nearby, there is a newly-opened Istrian restaurant, a coffee bar and pizza parlor, grocery shop, post office and the main village church, as well as two smaller churches – traces of the past. Two kilometres away there are rocky and pebble beaches and a fishery restaurant where you can enjoy sea food specialties. Across and over the whole area there are cycling trails, a horse ranch is not far away, giving the opportunity to take a horse-ride trip. The adrenaline park where children and adults can enjoy is also a couple of kilometers away. Krnica is a quiet place surrounded with greenery and olive groves, with a very good position since you can easily reach Pula, Rovinj, Poreč, Kopar, Opatija and Rijeka, as well as Venice. The highest Istrian mountain – Učka – and the green central Istria deserve the time to visit and entertainment.
