Maple Sunshine Oceanfront Upper Cottage

Top floor of cottage on the ocean with view across the straits to Nanaimo/Vancouver Island. Short ferry ride from the mainland. Located on the Sunshine Coast with incredible natural attractions and scenery. Ocean access directly in front of cottage. Skookumchuk Rapids is about 1 hour away. Gourmet dinning is just a 1. 2 kilometers walk away along the Ocean Beach Esplanade. Lots of kite and wind surfers, boats and barges pass in front of the house. Picnic on the beach and the sandbar out front. The space Rustic cottage with lots of locally milled cedar. All new windows with southern exposure overlooking the ocean. The walkout basement suite is owner/care taker occupied so we ask everyone to be respectful of noise. We'll behaved pets are welcome, $50 cleaning surcharge applicable. Guests are required to remove all pet feces, there are plenty of garbage cans & poo bag dispensers on beach. DO NOT LEAVE FECES IN OUR GARBAGE CANS the smell is terrible in the summer & attracts bears. Guest access Upper level of the cottage. You have 2 private entrances, your own patio with furniture, propane BBQ and Fire Ring. Separate heating and hot water. No one to bother you upstairs with commanding views of gorgeous sunsets on the strait and Vancouver Island is the backdrop across the water. Other things to note Housetrained/well mannered pets welcomed and as detailed in our rental agreement there is an additional $50 cleaning fee. You are required to remove all excrement/fecal matter from the property. There are garbage cans as well as poop bags in dispensers along the beach access points. Ferry is approx. 20 minutes drive from Langdale terminal to the Cottage. Express bus from Langdale through Gibsons to Sechelt will only get you half way. Bus is NOT recommended. People have done it without a car by taking bus to the Gibsons Park Plaza Mall - Starbucks/Grocery/Liquor store and then taking taxi the last 5 km. There are only 2 taxis in Gibsons so there would be a long wait at the ferry. Bicycle would be faster if you took the ocean front route along Gower Point Road IF YOU ARE NOT DRIVING. Summertime ferry traffic can be heavy. Reservations are recommended OR try to avoid Friday and Sunday travel days.
