Cascades Cottage is situated on the Beautiful Bulga Plateau; mountain top gateway to national parks and areas of outstanding natural beauty on the Mid North Coast, NSW. The cottage is fully self contained; 3 bedrooms, wood fire, wrap round verandah to take in the view or stare at the night sky. Situated on 220 acres of farm land and native forest. Native animals abound on the farm and a short drive brings you to the 160m high Ellenborough Falls. Spend time relaxing, exploring, rehabilitating. The space Cascades Cottage is named after the beautiful Cascades that have a drop of around 10 metres, at the centre of which you can cool down in a natural plunge pool or sit and listen to the water cascade down 4 metre fall. It is an ideal space on a hot summers day to take a camp chair and sit with a glass of wine and rejuvenate in absolute privacy. A stay at Cascades Cottage can be any sort of holiday you like - a romantic getaway, a relaxing and peaceful break or a fun and action packed adventure exploring the farm, nearby national parks, the falls and the rapids which is off farm about 10 minutes away but a fun and dynamic place where you can swim and explore the natural rock pools that run from the top of a natural stream. Native wildlife make the farm their home. Wallabies, koalas and platypus can often been seen enjoying the surroundings. Kayak on the dam or spend time on the pier waiting for the platypus to play in the early mornings and late afternoon. A stay at Cascades will bring you close to nature and give you a wonderful tree change for the duration of your stay. Guest access Guests have access to a large fresh water dam and two kayaks are provided for your use (as well and life jackets). Guests can explore the whole property of 220 acres. There are many waterways and rain forest areas as well as fields and paddocks. There are a number of sheds on the property that contain farming equipment, and a tent, these areas are private and not to be accessed by guests. Other things to note There are over 100 movie titles supplied for you viewing, as well as a CD player, and a Wii. WiFi and Netflix is supplied as well as satellite T.V. Mobile reception is available. Due to the farm being a around 40 minutes from the nearest large shopping centre, make sure you grab your groceries before you head up the plateau. You can do this at the lovely country town of Wingham. However, Elands has a little community shop that sells some groceries, local produce, take away and wine and beer. Also, fill up with petrol at Wingham or Wauchope before you head up the mountain as there are no service stations. Also as we are on tank water we do ask quests to bring their own drinking water.
