Ikal Ha is its' own free standing private casita facing the pool. Experience the authentic Tulum lifestyle in our traditional Mayan palapa style overlooking our turquoise blue pool and lush jungle gardens. A fusion of modern minimalist design with spacious living areas, floor to ceiling windows, bringing the beautiful outdoors in, while remaining comfortable inside. It features a fully equipped kitchen open to our lounge style living area, beautifully designed bathroom with shower and private outdoor garden tub on the 1st floor. The bedroom loft on the 2nd floor has a queen bed and gorgeous views of the palapa ceiling and property. Fully equipped kitchen, stunning bathroom with shower and private outdoor garden bathtub. Private patio and wrap around terraces are the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee. All interior decor is locally made by Mayan artisans giving IKAL it's authentic Tulum vibe. The property has a shared swimming pool, Yoga Shala, and garden area with the two other bungalows on property, featuring a beautiful hard wood staircase leading to separate paths to each private bungalow. Things to be aware and consider before you book: - We have full time security on site at all times - The 2nd bed is the day bed pictured in the listing photos. We provide sheets, pillows, and blanket and it converts to a very comfortable full size mattress - We are located in the jungle in the newest part of Tulum town. The newly opened beach road, Kukulcan, is right around the corner and will bring you to the beach in 12 minutes by car or 25 by bike. - The road to our property is a dirt road and sometimes has bumps and holes due to rain. The road is very manageable with any type of car, moped, or bike, and only adds to the adventure! :) -Renting a car is recommended but we have several taxi services. The taxis in Tulum are expensive, so we always recommend renting a car or moped. -We have Air Conditioners in each bungalow which are intended to cool our guests while they are sleeping, not to cool the entire apartment. We have designed the apartment to cool with fans and natural airflow through the palapa style roof, not by running the AC full blast all day. This was by design to minimize our impact on the world and meet our sustainability values and goals. - We have high speed fiber optic wifi at 50 mbps, but at times can be spotty due to wind and /or technical issues with the main tower, which we can not control. the majority of the time it works perfectly fine - The magical city of Tulum is very popular and in constant development due to its current demand. The entire town is under construction in every neighborhood and therefore, there is sometimes construction noise from simple hammers to power tools. Construction around the city happens from 9 am - 4 pm Monday - Friday - The outdoor garden tub gets luke-warm, not super hot. It is not a jacuzzi - We are in a NATURAL environment surrounded by lush jungle. That means there is the chance to encounter wild life - mosquitos, geckos, squirrels, etc. - nothing is poisonous and nothing will harm you. Our ceiling is made of natural fibers in the traditional Mayan way and sometimes geckos like to make it their home. You might hear them chirping or "scratching" at the fibers. - Tulum experiences occassional power outages due to development. When the power is out, there is no access to running water, lights, wifi, or AC. These outages last usually from 1 - 2 hours and are out of our control. - chef is not included in price of airbnb* ***We do not offer refunds for any of the listed above. There are two designated private parking spots for the property as well as additional street parking. There are cafes, restaurants, yoga studios, and groceries store within a 10 minute walk of the property.
