In the heart of Ribeira d'Ilhas and Coxos surf reserve. Our home is located in the town of Ribamar (Ericeira), within walking distance from the beaches of São Lourenço and Coxos. Recently renovated, this is the authorised lodgment (18661/AL). The space Just in the heart of the World reknown Surfing Reserve of Ribeira d'Ilhas and Coxos, our home is located in the town of Ribamar (Ericeira), within walking distance from the beaches of São Lourenço and Coxos. Having been recently renovated, Casa dos Matinhos is a 2 storey home, which boasts a spacious 220 m2, with a capacity to accommodate 9 people comfortably. The house is composed of 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a large kitchen and dining room, a sitting room, a TV room and a double-faced fireplace (great for those cool nights!). Outside, you can enjoy stunning sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean from the garden or the balcony, enjoy a BBQ in the backyard or simply just relax and soak up the sun after a long day of surfing, hiking, mountain-biking or just hanging out at the beach. A 5 minute drive from Ericeira, and just 40 minutes from Lisbon, Ribamar is a quaint little village with all the all the necessary services and amenities (supermarkets, atm's, pharmacy, cafés and plenty of seafood restaurants) so you don't have to use the car if you don't want to. The surrounding country-side is also very beautiful with its rolling hills, rural atmosphere, and cliffs overseeing the Atlantic Ocean – Also great for hiking, trail running and mountain biking, or just enjoying the sunset. Free Wi-Fi internet access and cable TV service are provided, as well as fresh towels and linens. Should you require transport from and to Lisbon airport, this can also be arranged. Bikes, scooters ands surf boards for rent are close by. Surf lessons can be arranged. ? What makes this place different? ! More information, doubts and some ideas! Transport from and to the airport? Bus: When you arrive at Lisbon International Airport , you can take a bus to Ericeira, that will cost around 6 Euros/person , and then a taxi to Ribamar and for the last 4 km (aprox. €7 - €9). Taxi: Taxi transport can be arranged through local Taxi for aprox 60 euros for transport from Lisbon To Ribamar and another 60 Euros from Ribamar to Lisbon. Train: There is no train service from Lisbon to Ericeira and Ribamar. The Garden? The house faces West to, the Atlantic Ocean. Yes! You can see the Ocean from the garden and from the house. Depending at what time you cook dinner you can even appreciate de sunset over the ocean from the kitchen. You can even observe the waves of the right side of Sao Lourenço bay, from the front garden, from the 1st floor balcony and from the two front bedrooms. The back garden faces east and is sunny in the morning; The outdoor eating area is sunny at lunch time; The Road? The road has few houses It is a very small road! no noise: What you listen to, is the breeze, the waves and the birds. ... when a neighbour comes, you listen to their car, ... Sometimes you can hear a dog from the neighbourhood. Just 200 meters to the right side of the house there is a small playground for children and a football court. The Sunset? The sunset is someting that you can fall in love with almost every day if you have the opportunity to appreciate it on the atlantic ocean as it happens here. Some of the pictures of the sunset were taken from the house and others were taken during one of my favourite walks on the cliffs, the walk, I suggest you to do ! An unsual thing about this house is that you can be cooking and watching the ocean and the sunset at the same time! What to do? Surf ? Cook ? Read? BTT? Run ? Beach? Skate? This house has a great location for those activities. It is close to the WSR surfing spots and with a very friendly and social kitchen. Maybe you would like to do some walks near the cliffs starting in the house, going down the road, crossing "praia dos coxos" and then by the cliffs until Ribeira d' Ilhas. It is a perfect walk: Exercise, ocean, sunsets, breeze, waves, surfers and purple and yellow flowers among the green nature. GO! walk to Ribeira d'Ilhas, have a drink there and come back, or if you feel like, and it is not too late, just walk until Ericeira and hang around… If you are very active or you are in the mood, this is also very interesting by mountain bike. You have bikes at your disposal to rent them in the little shop, just outside the camping site. Do not forget to bring a sweatshirt or hoodie with you, because the Atlantic breeze can be very cool. For very active people? 1.Surf , surf, surf.... 2.Run , run, run … 3.Mountain biking and walks, 4. Skate Park? Children? 1- Beach Just go to the beach. children always love it. We have some children's toys you can use... If you do not want to take a shade, you can rent one, for a day or for half a day... You have two beaches at walking distance: Praia dos Coxos and Praia de São Lourenço… 2- Walk on low tide in Ribeira D Ilhas Interesting can be to go for a walk in the rocks during the low tide in Ribeira de Ilhas... Children always enjoy to look for little fish and crabs and observe sea plants; 3-Small Play ground near the house Just crossing the field on the left side of the house. 4- Animal Zoo in the village You can visit the animal zoo of the village in Ribamar- "Quinta Amazonia"- but you have to book it in advance, 5-Parque de Santa Marta In Ericeira you can take the children to Parque de Santa Marta, near Praia do Sul. There you have an generous playground with an amazing view over the ocean and entrance is free, facing the ocean, with restaurant, tennis court and terrace café! 6- Ocean Natural swimming pool When the Ocean is at low tide, an ocean swimming pool forms between the rocks of Praia do Sul. Specially if it is a windy day, this is a good choice, because the big hotel - "Villa Galé"- in the right side really creates a great wind barrier; If it is windy, remember, you can play with a kite and children love it. Make your own fun! 7-Big swimming pools If you do want to go to big swimming pools, you can always visit the Aquapark in Peniche 30 Km to the north of Ribamar, this could be a plan for a whole day, or at least for half a day. 8-Windmill village – Craft Work In the way from Ribamar to Mafra, in Sobreiro. Also very popular for “ pão com chouriço" 9- Surf experiences 10- Skateboarding? if you and /or your childreen like to skateboard, you do have a fantastic skateboard park, with amazing ocean view, free entrance, at the Tiago Pires Quicksilver Shop, just after the camping site in Ericeira... It is a nice surf and clothing shop with a friendly bar, where you can have a drink and once again enjoy the amazing view of the ocean... They always lend skateboards. Do not forget to wear protection, important for the safety of your body! 11-The Oceanario please a visit to the Oceanario in Lisbon is a must, the best in Europe! 12-Playing tennis? Book it in “Parque de Santa Marta", just check the booking and price conditions before, 13-Horse Riding There is -“Quinta do Cavalinho"-. they have some information in internet. This place is just on the hill in front Ribeira d'Ilhas (hot beach and spot surf). You should talk with Débora: A lesson will cost aprox fifteen Euros, but if you buy a group of ten lesson, you will get a discount. The Village? Were to shop for food ? 1.fishshop 2.butcher 3.supermarket "Forno" 4.Minimarket "Tito" 5.pharmacy 6.café:“pão com cores", vitoria,... 7. Clothes boutique 8. Drycleaner 9. Ribamar Has more than 10 restaurants and is reknown for its sea food! These are the restaurants we prefer in Ribamar: 1.Terra Mar: wonderful view over Sao Lourenço Bay 2.Estrela do Mar: sopa rica do mar, lobstar salad 3.Rochedo: Try to eat sea rice ! yummy! 4.Marisqueira de Ribamar; 5.Golfinho Azul: beautiful view over Sao Lourenço Bay 6. Gruta: Nice steaks; If you want to go Further to eat out, In Ericeira/ Sintra/ Cascais/ Santa Cruz, You have many more restaurants… The night? Do not forget to have a drink in "Barzinho", the pub of the village! Or Golfinho Azul in S Lourenço! Or visit the Bars existing in Ericeira You sitll feel energy? go to “Ouriço" and dance .. really the oldest discoteque in Portugal, very small.... (I use to spend a lot of evenings in my youth there!) Have fun ! Tired? Your feel tired from surfing and the beach? Just light the fire place and feel warm… A movie? a book? Sleep! Sleep late the next day!.. Cultural nearest options? To the north: 1.Visit Óbidos To the south: 1.Palácio de Mafra 5 to 10 minutes by car 2.The natural park: 10 min driving to Tapada de Mafra 3.Visit Sintra: 30 minutes driving 4.Visit Lisbon: 40 minutes driving Transportation: The public transportation is not far from the house. The buses go to Ericeira, South direction, or to Torres Vedras- direction north. And because there are not so many buses, the taxi is always an option for those who do not come with a car. Taxi to Ericeira: day time - around 7 euros; night time- around 9 euros. Other details : Insulation : This house is fully insulated . This is a "plus" when compared to the majority of others, in temperature and sound from the outside. Very positive whenever you are travelling to Portugal, outside of the summer season. Cleaning: Cleaning lady, can be arranjed- 8 euros/hour Weekly cleaning- can be arranjed-60 euros What can you expect from us? - A house that looks like in the pictures - A nice and clean house - A holiday starter kit, including: - welcome basket of fruits, vegetables, cheese and wine - some laundry detergent for 3 loads; - some dishwasher detergent for 3 loads - some toilet paper - some shampoo, conditioner and bathing gel - kitchen, bed, and bathroom linens - a box of firewood - some Nespresso coffee capsules - beach towels if you need - parasol and lunch bag And: - a host at the distance of a phone call or Airbnb Message! - A Host that has a little appartment in the attic, and may spend some time there,...
