The Roost - Rotorua Retreat

Kia Ora from your hosts Leo, Hollie & Prana the cat! Welcome to the Roost - Our home. We love it here. It’s only available when we are out of town for the weekend, or when we pack up for a roady down to the South Island this Christmas/New Year. If you would like to request a specific weekend, we might just take that as an opportunity to skip outta town to accommodate your needs. Since we moved in, we have found it pretty hard to leave! Come stay and feel the aroha of our home. The space Under the big blue, our north(ish) facing home is luminous all day. Our elevated position offers great views to get you pumped for getting out and about, into the garden or exploring the local area. And on the other hand, our place is excellent for afternoon naps! Sunset silhouettes Mount Ngongotaha, which melts you into the evenings. This home has a cosy, thrifty, slightly retro feel. There are no corridors, so all bedrooms open up into the lounge. Therefore with a full house, it creates a batch like living space. The lounge has a comfy sofas. There are also two huge pillow bean bags that can be used both inside and out. On our deck we have a BBQ and a large table to share lovely food with lovely friends. There are also plenty of nooks in the garden to find some solitude. There are three bedrooms, two queens and one large room with super solid kind single bunks that are suitable for adults too! We have one bathroom, with bath and shower… and a bath on the deck, especially good for sunset soaks! But best of all there are a heap of Lakes near by to bathe in. Lake Okareka, Tarawerea, and Tikitapu (Blue Lake) to name a few close favorites. And please make the most of the sacred healing thermal waters, Waikite Valley is our most loved. Great for after a hike/bike up Rainbow mountain. Are you one of those deranged cat haters?! Then our place is just not for you. Although she is happy living outside. Our sweet kitty Prana will be your hostess, although you will have to feed her! For this small exchange you will receive endless cuteness and smooches. That’s right, the prerequisite to stay here is previous cat cuddling experience. Guest access You will have the whole place to yourself.
